A short few months ago Stewart was named our player of the Year surely he can't be that bad.
I know what you mean though but theres no way i'd have tampon in this team(Hall)

Connolley for Stewart, Taarabt on the left Wing, buzz replacing Vine in the whole behind Simpson and I think we are there.

Consistent goal scorer and proper left back still needed to be serious "candidates" - possession last night not converted into goals.

              Gutted
So far only missed Cardiff & Newcastle away and Barnsley at home. Even did the pre season jollys.
Perhaps I should stay away more often

Can everyone just calm the f*%k down. How many false dawns do we have to have/ predict before people learn?

Pete, talk like this will only cause expectations to increase and then the boos will reign down upon Loftus Road when we misplace the odd pass or we are failing to beat a team that we all expect to as we're "serious contenders" now.........................again.

Can't we all just turn up to each match with the only expectation being that we're going to support the team no matter what the result? Happiness and fulfilment lies down this road. Turning into Spurs/Newcastle fans lies down all other roads.

Never going to happen and why should it? Part of the fun of supporting a team is that the expectation of something good being just around the corner is always there!

Because I'm tired of watching football amidst a bunch of halfwits who have unreal expectations and will start berating the team they allegedly "support" when these expectations inevitably aren't reached or exceeded.

P.S. Whilst the halfwit comment refers only to a minority of our support, it is, sadly, a growing minority.

                      Good point!

But I know in my case I am optimistic but at the same time realistic in my expectations and certainly won't be booing the team etc if they do fail to meet them.

The problem really is that some people are halfwits rather than people shouldn't get excited about football!

Ellerlsie and others, your not reading what I have said, which I'm not surprised about.

I've said what we need to do and highlighted that.

I would also say, the general hype of a potential top 6 finish is not after 1 game, but at least 4 good games and magilton now knowing what his best 11 is.

Any halfwit, including me knows that we improved enormously.

So "Just back.........we have improved enormously" would have been a better, more accurate, less misleading thread title then?..........

sign a proven scorer and i would say we are going up...

the team has been rejuvenated, rowly has been outstanding, yet has nothing to prove in my eyes
watson has been the key...a good accurate passer
                            simpson and routs offer pace
connolly, gorkss and stewart are excellent centre halves ( hall can go, i don't rate him)
buzza seems to be improving every game, and his fitness improves too

with cook to return, hogan in contention...

where do alberti, mahon and a few others fit in, even agy

i am yet to be convinced on faurlin and pellicori needs more games

is vine past it, that leg injury and 2 break downs in rehab cannot have helped and it was a serious break...will he recapture that pace and skill he had?

BECKFORD ANYONE?....out ofcontract in the summer...so january is the last chance leeds get to sell...

It seems Jim magilton knows his best 11 and now we are reaping the awards, with fine displays and a good team understanding with all players. For me, Watson is the key player. We remain optimistic that the Wigan valuation iof Watson is something we will match, but lets face if Wigan scouts are watching him, they might value him a bit more after recent performances. You can see the difference he makes and if the club have real ambitions of going up or at least making the play offs, we need to buy him. Simples. He is that important to any progression this club makes this season. We have two leaders now in the middle and it shows.

The other concern for me is strength in depth, and the worry that someone like Rowan Vine continues to be the weakest link. Hard to be critical of good performances, but the bench mark has definitely risen and we might need a more of a target man. Vine, at least is a fine team player and is trying his hardest and I would like to see him score, as I feel this will enhance his performances. When, you look at the bench its good, but probably not good enough to sustain a challenge for a TOP 2 position and we will definitely get injuries. Personally, think that a TOP 6 spot is well within reach and it depends how seriously the club regard the chances of going up, as we need sensible additions to compete for automatic promotion, I see no reason why we cannot be challenging the like of Newcastle, who without question are the team in this league that will be vying for champions of this league along with WBA.

It is also important, that the team who play so well against the so called better teams maintain the form against the lesser teams, who we have not performed particularly well against. if anyone would say after 9 games, we would only have lost 1 game, we would have all taken it. We need to maintain the form against Swansea who are definitely beatable and then we will be a in good position with a number of home games to come.
                                great result the other night

but your basically saying what "everyone" was saying 12 -18 months ago!

if we'd have signed Watson (when it was a "done deal") or Ched (when "he was on the bus")

Mancienne (but unfortunately someone didn't rate him) :electric_shock:

we could be in the prem already

those 3 players that we didn't sign could have cost the club a minimum of £40M in lost revenue :horror:

i hope the club listen to your shouts as they are all very valid, but for me at least 12 months to late

anyway, onwards & upwards and lets hope we do the business at Swansea
