Interpreting what? If you write no chance creation that usually means no chances are created. You like to exaggerate and that's fair enough but when you contradict yourself it can look foolish.

Calling him the best of his generation is an outrageous claim, he wouldn't get into any of the top 5 international or club sides. He's probably the most overrated of his generation.

What are Rooney's strengths in your opinion?

When did I say best of his generation.

His strengths are his pace, dribbling, vision, shooting, work rate, set pieces and leadership in general/

You two are both a bit off to be honest. I said he is one of the best of his generation. ONE OF THE BEST. And he is. He is not the best of this generation, but he is ONE OF THE BEST.

Sorry you did say one of, though I would still refute that.

                      - He doesn't have any pace any more.
                      - You will rarely see him dribble past any half decent defender (weak Prem sides do not count).
                      - His vision is worse than my granddad's, he just ends up playing long balls to Valencia 99% of the time and is central to Utd's poor play this season.
                      - He does have a half decent shot on him.
                      - His work rate was very good in his youth but he never developed the tactical nous to really put it to use. Effort will only get you so far against the big sides, it is about being smart rather than just running around a lot (look at how Pirlo did him when Italy played us at the WC). Ferguson knew this too, he played Ronaldo as his stoker in the CL final & in his last ever CL match left Rooney on the bench so that Welbeck could man mark Alonso…
                      - He scores lots of penalties but I wouldn't describe him as a great set piece taker. He misses a lot of free kicks and remember that corner in the last minutes of the WC match against Italy? He couldn't even get in into the box.
                      - As for leadership I dunno, no team has ever won anything with him as the leader.

Cant think of anyone more overrated in recent years tbh, watch how Man Utd & England improve once he moves on.

he is still rated as one of the fastest in the league when moving at full speed
He moves with the ball so well at times but being played out of position doesn't help (Leroy Fer will tell you that)
His vision is one of his key elements to his game. Look at fellaini's goal against us as a key example of this.
I would say a more than half decent shot
His work rate has been outstanding his whole career, hence his captaincy role. Pirlo didn't really do him, considering they were playing completely separate positions. Different situations call for different players with regards to the champions league match.
His free kicks can be worldy's at times but very few players are really super consistent.
Leadership is brought about by him being captain and leading by example, look at their most recent match to attest to that.

Calling me the newbie football fan when 90 % of football fans and pundits and people in the sport generally agree with me is a bit silly mate. Remember, 3 or 4 members of a forum don't make up the general public opinion.
