The negatives are plain for all to see so I'd rather dwell on the positive.
I timed the shot at 1.48 seconds from boot to crossbar. At 42 yards I believe that works out to 58 MPH ((42/1.48)*(3600/1760)). One of the things that amazed me was how it fairly flew into the net. I'm going to stick my neck out and say that will stand as the Premier League Goal of the Season. Memories of Gerry Francis on opening day 1975 are coming flooding back!

The only shining light in a miserable day.
Haven't seen a better goal from any team all season. What a fantastic strike. Phillips has improved so much as the season has worn on, and deserved that goal imo. What a hit.

But does it really need another thread?

Phillips was good last season untill he got injured . People were too quick to judge him at the start of the season and now is playing well . As fans i feel we write off players too quickly . Poor furlong had a bad day today and allready people are saying he shouldnt be playing , yet two weeks ago they were all singing theres only two furlongs
People clearly see something different than I do. Bar that wonder goal I thought he was pretty tosh. Has improved recently but still think for large parts of games he is non existent and not threatening.
Can put a great ball in I agree and given his run of assists playing right midfield why is he now played on the left?

Can shoot , puts in a shift , takes his man on , doesn't hide like some and can deliver a mean cross . He will do for me
a 'pony' palace team that are mid table having spent far less than us. their attack today was fearsome. they are a far superior club to us right now. would have been a cricket score if they hadn't lost zaha and puncheon. we will face far worse sides this season. fully expect them to be in europe within a few years. we should aspire to their model instead of calling them pony. we have embarrassed ourselves this year.
