I think it's called realism. Relegation form if ever I've seen it.

Haven't given in completely yet but I wouldn't put a pound coin on us staying up. Haven't got the players to turn it around imo, add to that continual individual mistakes & it doesn't make a pretty picture.

We have to win at least 4 of our last 10, when we have only managed 6 all season. I can't see it happening. We won't finish bottom, but I can't see us staying up now. We had to win that game in hand.

That for me is the pertinent point here. I would disagree in the sense that I believe we do have a squad that is good enough to survive based purely on talent - but throughout the season, we have continually made basic mistakes in (winnable) games that have cost us a lot of points. That is the hallmark of a relegation side. Through my own delusion I will believe we can stay up until mathematically impossible, but if I didn't support QPR I would have us nailed on to go down.

The reality is we are fcking hopeless, nearly every goal conceded comes from our own mistakes. Ramsey nice bloke picked a few kids and won a few brownie points but to see he looks well out of his depth and doesn't seem to be able to influence or change the game.

Where is Jamie Mackie when you need him. More team spirit please, more recklesness, more devil-may-care. GO FOR IT.

We did it 3 seasons ago, we need to have that same spirit and make sure we get a big confidence boosting win this weekend.

Think the reality is we just ain't good enough, poor defence especially through the middle thought that Caulker and the Chief would be our mainstay defence but Caulker is looking a poor buy the chief probably looks the more accomplished than all of them and he not been spectacular as for Rio too many bad things to say about him, it looks like sadly we're missing a 35 Yr old in Dunne and i think that says a lot about where we are there midfield far too many not good enough for this level Hoillett, Krancjar Henry SWP,and of course Fat Boy, as for Vargas and Zarate dont know what they've done wrong obviously not fancied by C.R, and the plain fact that if Charlie dont score we're struggling for goals which all in all means we ain't anywhere near good enough

Agreed, we just aint good enough. The year we stayed up in the Prem, we had big results against big teams at Loftus road which helped us and kicked us on... The Liverpool 3-2 and Arsenal 2-1 and such like... We just haven't had that this time around

I would still contend that as a group of players, 17th should've been our minimum achievement this season. Ability wise, we are certainly better than the likes of Burnley, Leicester and Hull man for man. What we do have in the team though is an inherent lack of fighting spirit or desire to win....evident in the number of games we have lost by a) the odd goal b) in stoppage time or c) both. Sides that truly want to stay in this league hang on for vital points. I still look at the fixtures that the aforementioned sides have and feel that 17th is still a possibility, but our staying up now will rely more on those sides completely coming off the rails than anything we achieve. I honestly don't think our destiny is in our own hands anymore.

I think Hull have a better squad than us man for man but i know where your coming from Surrey.

Just had a look at the Hull squad on wikipedia, and to be fair it is decent on paper (or a computer screen).

We have one of the most unbalanced squads in the league. We havent got 1 out and out proper RB, isla has converted from RWB and it shows when it comes to his defending. Only 1 LB, Traore cannot defend and Hill is a converted CB. We lack pace throughout the team, distinct lack of strikers (bobby is a 1st team starter, I bet nobody expected that last summer). This seasons signings have been poor, fer has had a few good games but the rest? Spent a large portion of our budget on Sandro who although has played well sometimes, cannot usually complete 90 mins and has been injured more often than available for us. Caulker has been woeful. Mutch didnt give us much to talk about so we sold him 5 months later. The list goes on. The situation with Harry was handled wrongly, why bother trying to force him out by starving him of transfer money? He should have been sacked a long time ago and the job given to someone who is capable of keeping us up, with enough time to turn things around and a transfer window to bring in their own players.

But if we somehow manage stay up (which I don't hold much hope) this will all be forgotten

Agreed. Disaster really... No right back and let our only one leave. 1 left back. Sign a left back and ship him out on loan for the season.

We still have a hell of a chance and the ones throwing in the towel now is very premature. We are our own worst enemy at times I agree but I personally seen enought from us under Ramsey to believe we are still in the mix 100%.
We lost to hull which really hurt but in the great scheme of things losing to Spurs and arsenal won't decide our fate. We still can dictate that with decent performances against wba, palace, Everton, Newcastle, villa and Leicester. The fact is of the matter is there are also 4 other teams in this fight who are just as poor as we are - Sunderland, hull and villa are all absolutely pony imo and will all struggle! Villa got lucky on Wednesday with there penalty and as they got the 3 points and we got none so seems a bit worst!!
We need to stand up and be counted on Saturday these are the games that count how and imo after the next 3 of we haven't taken at least 5/6 points we will be bang in trouble but I genuinely believe we can do that if we keep 10 players in the pitch and Sandro picks up a bit of form.
We aren't the greatest team in this league by any means and yes we are bang in trouble but I guarantee we will be in out of this relation zone a few more times before the end of the season and with 10 games to go we are still well in the mix and tbh we should all be happy with that as we are a team who have just come up!!

                                1) Our style is more positive under Ramsey, that much I will admit. The sad reality is that we continue to make individual errors on a constant basis, and that will in all certainty decide our fate.

                                2) Villa's win was fortunate, no doubt. The PL table doesn't care for tales of good or bad luck though....it'll simply shows them having 3 more points than us, which by definition puts them in a stronger position.

                                3) We have been saying that the players need to stand up and be counted since Christmas. More often than not this has failed to materialise.

                                4) Sorry Maids, but you can't guarantee that. We could easily stay in the bottom 3 between now and May.

                                5) If someone had said to me that we have would a game against Leicester to remain in the PL (as looks likely), I think I would've taken that. It still doesn't hide the fact though that we have spent big money by newly promoted club standards, and as such the season up to this point has to be considered an abject failure. We are lucky that we still have the chance to correct our previous mistakes.
