  • Another striker = play offs

As much as i like vine, hes not really prolific enough for a team aiming for promotion. If we can get another striker in like Simpson, maybe someone like Welbeck or King, Kamara then i think we would be sorted.

Harewood would have done for more than one reason.......

Another striker and we could make the automatics, we are already good enough for the Play Offs

Bang on. The game turned for Newcastle when they brought on Harewood. They were really ordinary before then. We have Tarabt to bring on but he is a fancy dan - sometimes you need a big brute of a centre forward with a bit of skill to go with it - we just don't have anyone like that.

Like you probably I've always liked Vine but starting to wonder what he brings - we already have great players to create chances, we need someone to finish them off. Simpson can't do it on his own.

nail on head, in my eyes strikers are there to finish , midfield create the chances. IF the club are serious. go out and loan a good striker. The loans of Simpson and Watson have shown how much the squad can improve...

sorry but take off those rose tinted glasses...

we are in form but by no means are we "certain" of playoffs..

our first XI is of playoff quality but we need some quality depth up front.. fact we decided to put on 2 midfielders for strikers tonight proves that fact.

competition at left back and another striker - then your looking at a team which should be good enough to certainly get into the playoffs
Soldier: "im on reconnaissance sir.. im looking for our camouflage expert.. have you seen him?"
              Lovejoy: "No?!"
Soldier: "GOD DAMNIT THAT GUYS GOOD!"

The loan of Watson is important. If we lose him......

If we brought in Hooper and Spurr, hold on to Watson and Simpson and avoid injuries to Buz and Routledge we should be comfortably good enough to make the play offs. From there its a lottery.

Turn the clock back 12 months and you will find both Watson and Morrison refused to sign new contracts with Palace as they thought QPR were going to step in,which they didn't.Another good opportunity missed. I know we now have Watson on loan, but only for another 3 months when we could have had him permanently last year.As it is,how many of our 13 goals so far in the league have been scored by "strikers" - not many, mostly midfielders and defenders.ANOTHER STRIKER IS A MUST to capitalise on the good work done so far by the squad and JM.

Still unproven in the championship but could a fit again Balanta be an option. Forgotten since he got injured and now our midfield is firing, wouldn't it be nice to push him up top once he's regained his fitness?

At one time I felt the same but since his loan spell at Wycombe he hasn't seemed the same player.Whether he was played out of position by the R's or whether he is simply in awe of the players around him I don't know, but he's been very ineffective when he has played and regretfully I don't think he is the answer to goal poaching striker deficiences.A proven lump up front is what we need to feed off the excellent group of players we're now blessed with.

i think JM is already realising himself that we need a striker, saying that we need to be more clinical in the final third. I think the way we are playing has woken people up and made us realise that we are good enough for at least the playoffs, and we should be getting a clinical striker in, to help that. Vine is a great player, but wont get enough goals. One proven striker with experience is what we need
