Not good enough for brentford then no way good enough for us. Im pretty sure this is just a two and two equals five and he will come nowhere near our club.

[QUOTE=QPRDave;1388261]Wasn't this announced a week ago?.....They said they were going to hire a foreigner in the summer then.[/QUOTE
It certainly was on Tuesday that he would leave in the summer and it could be him? I think if we're in the championship it could well be, but should we survive and stay in the prem it won't be ,seems more like Clement as long as we stay up, as the saying goes today's chip paper

I wonder if it would be possible to have both MW and CR at the club.
I've always wondered about the English concept of a "manager", who is responsible for coaching and buying and selling and player contracts. This approach seems very outdated to me, a throwback to the old days when football clubs did not have the kind of money they have now. The skills required to coach and motivate players, and develop tactics for each match are entirely different from those required to manage a budget. Once in a while somebody comes along who is very good at both (Ferguson comes to mind) but most Managers are much better at one than the other (or, in Redknapp's case, neither).
If you are judged solely on results, as seems to be the case for "Managers" these days, then it makes sense to spend many millions of pounds to bring in players who may marginally improve your squad. However, if you look at the bigger picture, this is foolish. Even if you are threatened with relegation, you risk the future of the club by doing this and having it fail.
I can't help thinking that English clubs would be better served by separating the two roles and having one person responsible for bringing in players and negotiating contracts, all within an established budget, and another for all the on-pitch stuff. Obviously the two need to work together and the coach needs to identify players for the "director" to pursue. If that is the way we are going, and it does seem as though we might be, I have to say that I like it.'Only a Ranger!' cried Gandalf. 'My dear Frodo, that is just what the Rangers are: the last remnant in the South of the great people, the Men of West London.' - Lord of the Rings, Book II, Chapter I - Many Meetings.

some of the oddities
some of the oddities of management always amaze me
bobby charlton and bobby moore failed as managers as did ray wilkins an yet this brentford manager achieved quite a lot with no real massive finacial input.............................difficult to know if he could achieve in the prem
