  • Matty Phillips hails club's 'superb' new management for turning career around

Matt Phillips has thanked the club's new management team for keeping faith in him and turning his Loftus Road career around.

Phillips fell out of favour under previous boss Harry Redknapp and looked like being one of a handful of players set for a January exit.

But director of Football, Les Ferdinand, insisted the club would keep Phillips and has got him working closely with caretaker manager Chris Ramsey, who has started him in their last two matches.

...with this plus all the reports from yesterday, it's pretty clear at least who the players' 1st choice of coach/manager is.

Player-power can sometimes be a positive thing, as they obviously know best having worked with CR directly. And the team-spirit displayed at Sunderland shows that they have the club's best interests at heart (and not just their bank-balances).

Another mug off for Harold the dinosaur.

Phillips needs to continue in the same form & we'll have a decent player on our hands.

This is great news, I will caution though that one decent game followed by a very good game does not mean a career turn around! Everything is looking positive so far with CR in charge and some out of favour players finding form but I will wait until we string several results together before I call this a turn around!

Interesting how Hoillet got picked time and time again and Phillips got left out but now Hoillet is nowhere to be seen and Phillips has been given an opportunity

Just a bit of PR fed to the media by the club. A very similar story emerged when Bucsaky scored/assisted in a couple of games when MH took over. Think Wigan may have been one of the games, he scored a great free kick. He left that summer.

Lets see where we are a month from now before getting carried away...!

Can't believe Phillips is the first to get 2 assists in one PL match for us since 1996...crazy stat.

Proper crazy that, good on him.

People jumping on the 'turnaround' at the club - that was just the headline used by talksport.
All Matty said was that he admits he came short at start of the season but is pleased with his last couple of games and les/chris have given him some confidence.
