You really do not have a clue about football if you don't see the potential in him.. The blokes 22. Why do you think McLaren was interested in him?
This is what really really gets my goat up about a lot of QPR fans.. The inability to actually know anything about football - And that aint even harsh, its the truth.
Ive got some fans around me that fvcking moan when the ball gets played backwards... if you have learnt anything about the game you will know why moaning about this is ridiculous.
QPR fan logic - Player has one or two bad games and lacks confidence = His sh1t get rid of him.. He cant do this, he cant do that... etc etc etc.
Mclaren manages Derby. In the Championship. Good player in that league which is why Mclaren is after him to get promotion. QPR play in the Premier League just to remind you.
I have seen most games he has played for QPR. He basically just isn't that good. Confidence or not. Would loved to be proved wrong and will happily hold my clown hands up if i am.Last edited by SammyKojoe; 09-02-2015, 02:25 PM.

I thought Phillips gave us a slightly different out ball than just a big hoof. I wouldn't say he was good this weekend but has to be given a run of games now and hopefully should improve. Also we were playing currently the third best team in the PL, with him in the team you could see a different way of attacking down the right than we had down the left.
I thought Ned did well playing out of position, was strong but got into trouble trying to be too clever a couple of times when I would have been happy with a hoof. Adel had flashes of something we have been missing, hands oh hips quite a bit but you have to accept that's what you get with him and either look past it or drop him.
Zarate I thought look sharp, for someone who was supposed to be the unfittest player at the club he must have had one hell of a week in training.
Moving Phillips to the left and bringing Isla on didn't really work for me but at least we tried something different. I have to say I didn't really notice Fer at all during the game and thought he was quiet but maybe I was looking someone else when he was involved.
Caulker frustrated me, seems to have been going backwards over recent weeks but think there is still a good enough player there to persevere with.

Got headed away easily. Maybe he was tired but it happened in no a more than average performance. Hence even on the Loft for words match report they give him 3 good crosses in an otherwise poor performance. Most people on here even say he was average at best. Yet you say he was brilliant. With that sort of opinion i would be mindful of saying other people don't have a clue about football.

What exactly are you expecting from a young man who has been forced out of the team and is low on confidence, with no faith being shown in him.. are you expecting him to just come in a run rings around people? He did a lot more then good and it was one of his best performances this season.
McLaren is one of the best coaches in the English game.. he was interested in Phillips because he has potential and would like to develop him as well as have him help out with Derbys promotion push.. This is exactly the type of QPR fan logic I mean.. 'he basically just isn't that good. Confidence or not'. You have no idea what you are talking about.
Near enough every game he has played for QPR he has been lacking confidence. He arrived with an injury, he started to play really well and then got injured again.. he started really well this season and then HR threw him out for some reason. His hardly had a chance has he at 22.. yet your response is 'he basically just isn't that good, confidence or not'. What a ridiculous thing to say.

I'm looking forward to seeing him against less able defences and where maybe he has a bit more to aim for as well.
He is young, quick and direct. Exactly the kind of player we should be looking to develop.
"His crossing was accurate for the most part"........how many of his crosses landed on Austins, or anyone else's for that matter, head? What are we considering accurate? That they make it somewhere into the box?
"The problem is the Southampton defence were marking Charlie out of the game".....then the answer lay with not putting pointless balls, no matter how accurate, into the box in the air!!!!
Beat your man, get to the line and look up, see what other options there are. Maybe pull the ball back for someone running in!
The day he does this, and we start creating opportunities at goal from his efforts, he will be fulfilling his no doubt potential.
Until then, people will have differing views.Fags n weed, glue n speed, but I draws the line at crack !
