As it goes, I think JMs two first choice centre backs are both injured at the moment.

Also Stewart behind Hall in the pecking order now I know you are talking rubbish. All of a sudden that donkey gets injured and we stop lumping pointless hoofs up field to no one. Instead we start playing the ball through the centre, keeping it on the deck and we look a better side.

Stewart has been a lynchpin in one of the best CCC defences for over a season now. I've never been a massive fan but I do recognise his value to the team and what an important player he is for us. Put a steady head like Gorkss or Connolly next to him and the man is a man mountain and one of few defenders capable of handling the physical presence of someone like Dele Adebola.

Damion Stewart played roughly the same amount of games last season as Connelly... big difference is, Connelly was shunted around the back four covering for everyone.
LB, RB, CB, he did a good job in all of them.

If people want to get all trappy because I think he should have won POTY instead of Stewart (who is a good CB) then that's up to them.

But I still say that we have 4 good centre backs for this level, but Connelly is my pick of them... and far more versatile and usefull to a squad. Which, unfortunately, he'll probably have to show again this season in the absence of full backs in our squad.

I would play Connelly and Gorkks at CB.

I thought the idea of the player of the year award was to determine the "player of the year" not who the best player at the football club is?

Yes Connolly is better than Stewart, but IMO, Stewart was more consistant last season.

You are changing the subject here, at no point has anyone said stewart is better than connally, but no two ways about it, Damo deserved to win the POTY award last year.
