What people from the outside world don't seem to understand is it's not that easy to sign players. My cousin was the owner of a football league club and he always said it's very difficult because the selling club want there terms met so does the player and also the players agent and at the same time as all that is being asked the player is getting his head turned by other clubs that may be interested and then the agent see bigger £ signs so switches his attention and this is all going on while the buying club is trying to sort out an acceptable deal to buy but the goal posts keep moving while all this is happening.

People don't see this side of things, things can change very quickly.

Defoe would have been happy to come here, only we weren't going to pay the inflated transfer fee or wages. This had nothing to do with Harry.
