Seem to remember the best spell he had at Newcastle was when the manager moved him to the right of midfield

Yep, think Joey has it in his locker (somewhere) but we only ever see glimpses which are too few and far between.
I would personally play Henry and Fer in the middle, at least until Sandro is back, or as someone suggested on another thread play a diamond.

"It's not f***ing good enough. We’ve been f***ing about too much" admits midfielder whose relegation-bound Hoops have lost EVERY game on the road

And let's hope he takes his own advice too. He has been guilty more than once this season of "f****** about".

For me the problem with Barton is that he seems to have taken on this role of central midfield playmaker, trying to play through balls and long killer passes. Barton is not a playmaker, he doesn't have the required level of ability to play that role at this level and is better used in more of combative, ball winning midfield role.

Unfortunately we don't have any other options, Mutch was meant to be creative but obviously didn't work out, Granero I suppose could have played that role but he never wanted to be here, Taarabt would obviously add some creativity but don't even get me started on him, and Sandro is always injured.

Blah blah blah blah blah!!!!....... stop focking talking about it and do something about it!! 11 loses out of 11 games is disgusting, and if you havent noticed Joey you've played in those games too and made your fair share of c0ck ups..... just wish there was less talk and more action!!

His good bits of play now and then are not enough, his is a nett liability, he doesnt see the joey barton we see, in his mind he is a different league.
Pity his legs didnt know how good his mind thinks they are.

Barton will be no use to us until he accepts that he's not as good a he thinks he is. Oh well

Yeah he deserves a pat on the back-best game from him for a while.
