A player scoring a few in the championship means little when it comes to the prem.

Darren Bent was up for grabs and most wouldn't want him even though he's scored goals whenever he's played regularly wherever he's been but is called lazy. He's hardly played in months or years even while rotting at villa but has 3 in his first 2 games for Derby. I'm also certain if Gestede stayed at Blackburn, Bent will score more goals from now until the end of the season....

Yet some think Gestede is an answer for the prem. I'm not convinced and think the Bothroyd comparison is spot on.

Darren Bents a shocker and wouldnt want him anywhere near this club!! Half decent at Sunderland but thats about it.... another is Carlton Cole, pure c4ck. The thing that makes these types of player so frustrating/$hit isnt just lack of goals but the amount they miss. Would be devastated if that lump came here!

What makes you think that Gestede is lazy?? Anyway, each to their own I suppose, but Zamora can surely teach this Gestede a thing or two about how to suceed in the prem.

Half the Prem teams are championship standard at best!! Gestede has every chance of scoring goals at this level of he's banging goals in the championship.

Yes it's a risk but toe it's a good risk and a step in the right direction! Would much prefer us going for the likes of gestede then adeybayor or crouch!!
