To be honest mate Im sick of Fer being on the wing. I said it from day 1 that he would be vital for us, both scoring and assists. But we just havnt got the best out of him purely because he always ends up on the wing. And like you say can also see Phillips cutting in and causing problems, a bit like what Vargas does on the right. Lets face it he's got to be better than toilet.

Your set up looks decent too, very attacking and direct. What do you reckon the chances are HR taking a chance on that formation?...........

God knows mate, Harry don't know what he wants to do away from home.

My head tells me he will stick with the normal team ie

        Vargas Henry Barton Fer

I don't think he has the balls to make the big decisions anymore. I mean how can he watch the same games we do week in week out and let Barton take most of our dead ball situations.
I would love to see Fer given a more central role or number 10 position. Getting annoyed with so many of our fans slating him when we all know hes played out of position every week.

Hes 23, English and our other options in cm compromise of barton, henry both 30 + and bang average, sandro whos a good player but injured a lot and faurlin again another injury case and we are selling Mutch to relegation rival for less than we brought him just 5 months ago.

He hasn't had any sort of run n the team or played in his right role so how the hell can we properly judge him. He's getting coated of by loads on here on the back of 3 or 4 poor perfronces that our infrequent and often when harry's decided to change his first 11 or experiment.

The fact is he's going so will have to move on. I think we all just need to pray that the money will be spent on a replacement that makes sense....ie a decent winger or striker and maybe Mvilla on loan. If we do that this might just make a little more sense.

I just pray we don't end up with crouch and Yakubu.

Jordan Mutch is no loss to the Central Midfield whatsoever.

I would bet that in a week or so, no-one will be going "We really need Mutch in the midfield"

That's because he isn't really a midfielder... He played best last season playing behind a striker. We havent used him in this position, in his actual position.. Like most of HR's summer signings actually... Fer, Vargas, Isla, Mutch all played out of position. Rather than shoving them out the door maybe HR should be trying to get the best of them.

And no of course no one will be saying that because we haven't seen the best of him! Players need more time then 5 months at a club IMO.
Our fans are so fickle its un-real. If he played on Saturday and scored everyone would be saying we need to keep him.

Piece in todays Metro - really good read and spot on IMO

So before the transfer window closes it looks like Jordon Mutch will end a short lived time at QPR by moving on to Crystal Palace as the clubs have reportedly agreed a fee of £4.75 million.

That’s a loss on what we paid to Cardiff just five months ago.

Mutch was signed with much fanfare, I hailed the signing as shrewd business as he was one of the bright points in a doomed season for Cardiff last year.

Netting five goals from midfield in a struggling side is no mean feat and it’s that attacking intent which would be needed from our midfield this season.

Yet a stop start beginning to his QPR career through injury and limited chances appears to be enough to right him off and out he goes.

We’re now left with the ageing Karl Henry and Joey Barton in midfield with the injury prone Sandro about to make another attempt back into action. Sweepstake on how long till his next injury is now open.

Signings can be a gamble and they don’t always work out, we’ve signed more than enough players since Tony Fernandes opened the purse strings to know that.

But what makes the potential sale of Mutch disappointing is the quick nature to write him off, when at 23 he’s got plenty of years ahead of him, has shown enough glimpses already to be given time to develop and be coached.

Matt Phillips is another who we’ll happily sell just a year and a half after signing.

QPR could be about to make the biggest mistake of the transfer window
Matt Phillips Is another young player with potential who QPR seem happy to let leave (Picture: Getty Images)

It’s the likes of Mutch and Phillips who should be looked upon as players who could be mainstays in the team for five or six years to come.

Instead that money will no doubt go to any of the many aging mercenaries linked with the club in recent days like Emmanuel Adebayor. We’ve lost the plot if we want anything to do with him.

We don’t want to spend time improving the players we have and instead run around from quick fix to quick fix. Just. One. More. Player. All we are doing is plastering over the cracks until the next transfer window.

Recently Tony Fernandes gave a lengthy interview to talk about QPR’s future – involving a new ground, new training facilities, better player recruitment and a vision of bringing through youth players to the first team.

All that talk flies out the window when we look to sell players like Mutch and Phillips, then get linked with mercenaries like Adebayor.

Just recently we let promising youngster Josh Laurent move to Brentford where he’ll have more chance of playing first team football.

QPR are still very much say one thing and do the other.

We’re just days away from Harry Redknapp’s Christmas day and all eyes are on a transfer window deal or two. But while all eyes are focused on another short term fix, we’re losing sight of what QPR should be as a club and what the long term focus should be.

So 5 gls and maybe 7 assists.......thats in 38 prem games for cardiff and 19 championship games.......wow we should ask £15mill for him....
Just a thought as well, an assist could be him completely misplacing a shot that goes to another who scores, don't mean he's Ronaldo

Look this is the point half of us are making. We are not saying he's a world beater but for his age 7 assists and 5 goals in a poor prem team is actually pretty decent. The fact another prem team is buying him and with a experienced manager at the helm more than demonstrates the lad has something.

No he is not paul scholes in the making or Modric but hes a decent player and good enough for QPR. We are not blessed with talent in the central midfield area. He hasn't been given a chance its simple. Been here 5 mins and we are selling him for less than we brought him for. Not many people can see sense in this.

Our club is a mess right now. No leadership or clear direction and we have a fine hanging over heads that will really screw us next year if we are relegated. We really should be preparing for all outcomes.

So basically 3 central midfielders for the rest of the season plus about 5 or 6 'number 10s'

No wonder with such a lop sided squad old Saggy Chops is taking us down. Central midfield is where games are won or lost and we have absolutely nada for virtually the remainder of the season.
