What players do we have at the club which could make the grade and integrate into the 1st team should we be in the Champ or Prem. My few would be...

Petrasso (Was on loan at Notts County)
      Ryan Manning (Recently Signed)
Max Ehmer (On loan at Gillingham)
Michael Harriman (On loan at Luton)
Jack Robinson (On loan at Huddersfield)
      Coll Donaldson
Cole Kpekawa (Was on loan at Colchester)

      Anyone else?
Harriman and Ehmer are nowhere near good enough for us. I would add grego cox to that list though.

Says who? Seen them play recently?... Harriman was MOTM last game of season against Liverpool in 2013 - Aint seen him since.
Ehmer is standing out for Gillingham at the moment in a decent league 1 team.

The level of these lads tells it's own stories. Gillingham and Luton! I'd give them the benefit of the doubt but Harriman and Ehmer are 22 so hardly young in football terms.

The rest have time on their side but if we're being honest, if they're going to be good enough to play in the PL, you'd like them to be playing Championship football by the time they're 20.
Would you have bought Charlie Austin when he was twenty years old?

Exactly, they have found a good level for them. They are not prem or championship standards, hence why no one above league 1 level has looked to bring them in. I have seen enough from both of them to suggest that while they may have energy, they totally lack quality

I saw Harriman's game when he filled in for Luke Young (under Warnock ?) and he was fine
I also saw Ehmer in whatever match he came on as a sub under Redknap (last season ?) and he looked comfortable too

How on earth are they supposed to prove they are good enough if they never get a run out ? Last season in the championship was the time to test a few of the best youngsters in preperation for this season - big opportunity missed imo

Charlie was scoring for fun in League One for Swindon at 19 years old and was scoring for fun for Burnley in the Championship from the age of 21. Slightly different to playing in League Two and not raising any eyebrows.

Where have I said people aren't entitled to disagreeing with me? If I believe I'm right, I'll stand by it.

What gives you the right to be rude to me? Would you say that in public to someone you didn't know?

Oh I don't doubt that... its more the way you put those opinions across shall we say.

Some people may say the same with how you speak to most people on this fourm matty... Ive seen a number of your posts and find you quite rude and sarcastic in your responses.
Just know that if you give it out you should be able to take it... oh and on the odd occasion that you may actually be wrong.

This isn't Football Manager or Fifa, young players don't just turn good if you give them minutes.

The reality is our academy is in a poor state after years of neglect, and none of them will make the grade as Premiership or higher level Championship players. Maybe Petrasso will but I wouldn't count on it.

Even for sides with very very good youth setups like Arsenal, Madrid, Chelsea, Man Utd etc. it is a tiny minority that actually make the grade. With us it will be even lower. There's a reason these youths are playing in League 1.

I'd love it for some of them to break through but blindly putting our faith in them isn't a solution, look at Chelsea, it took them years & crazy money to produce decent youth players.

Absolutely, this is the point that needs to be made, just because someone is young, doesn't mean he can be amazing or even good enough. As you said, Chelsea actually bought their way to youth success. Examples like Thorgan Hazard, Kalaz, Van Ginkel, Piazon, Wallace, Kakuta and Romeu weren't made in the chelsea academy but were bought and developed in the academy. That is what generally works, you buy youth and develop. Some may start with you and become stars but it is so unlikely.

Didn't Hughes take a few on the tour of Malaysia and then must have decided they weren't good enough.
