Ok, lets put it another way. I think they'll be safe but won't be out of the bottom 6-8 so are involved in the scrap...

          This...

We've entered the FA Cup for around 104 years and for about 78% of this time we've failed to get beyond the 4th round.... For the League Cup we've failed to get beyond the 4th round for 89%

I've got the stats somewhere if anyone is bored enough...

What really frustrates me is that Fernandes didnt know how expensive(funds) as a manager HR really is. Apart from from that TF is a really likeable character it looks like.

That was before his second injury. Besides; Austin will go if we get relegated.

We have brought in Zarate weeks ago, Crystal Palace has Sanogo, but that clown Pulis hasn't done anything.

I love how Redknapp is at fault for everything! If the cleaner missed a spot it would be Redknapp's fault!

Are people really that thick? It's not football manager ffs! We have no money and the majority of our players were purchased at an inflated rate and are on huge wages because Phil Beard can't negotiate for shite! Therefore we're trying to get the best deals possible to stop pissing money away and clubs aren't willing to pay what we want, or the players don't fancy the move because they've got a life of riley in London doing sweet fa and earning a fortune!

Here's a list of incoming transfers into the PL. Notice how little overall transfer activity there is and secondly how many loans.

Kyle Naughton [Tottenham - Swansea City] £5m
Krystian Bielik [Legia Warsaw - Arsenal] £2.4m
Jermain Defoe [Toronto - Sunderland] Undisclosed
Andrej Kramaric [FC Rijeka - Leicester] £9m
Wilfried Bony [Swansea - Manchester City] £28m
Carles Gil [Valencia - Aston Villa] £3.2m
Yaya Sanogo [Arsenal - Crystal Palace] Loan
Michael Keane [Manchester United - Burnley] Undisclosed
Victor Valdes [Unattached - Manchester United] Free
Philipp Wollscheid [Bayer Leverkusen - Stoke] Loan
Mark Schwarzer [Chelsea - Leicester] Free
Mauro Zarate [West Ham - QPR] Loan
Doneil Henry [Apollon Limassol - West Ham] Undisclosed
Matt Grimes [Exeter - Swansea] £1.75m

Clubs don't want to release players and you have to pay over the odds in January, something our owners are refusing to do.

If you actually read the papers or on here, there are plenty of confirmed rumours that we're actively seeking signings, the fact is it's a merry-go-round, which is why the last few days of the window are hectic. It's not just clubs that don't want to play their hand early, it's the players, who will wait until as late as possible to get a better deal.

Also it's mind boggling to see people saying our squad is good enough. Quite funny how it's the same people who come on here at 5pm every Saturday and lay into certain players.

You sound a little frustrated old boy.

Our squad is 100% good enough... We now have an additional striker which is all we needed in January.
I would like to see management get more out of the players we have as opposed to trying to purchase more and more. Most of our players have under-performed this season so far. The answer to under-performing players is not to buy more.

You think Traore, Hill, Phillips, Barton, SWP, Kranjcar, Hoilett and Zamora are "good enough" PL players?

Traore has been poor under Wenger, Warnock, Hughes and Redknapp in the PL.
Hill is a warrior but we all know isn't good enough.
Phillips has struggled since his move and been absolutely terrible this season when used. Jury is out.
Barton was poor in his first spell, decent last season in the Championship and been poor again this season. Championship.
SWP should be shot to be honest.
Kranjcar is slower than anything I've ever seen. Most overrated player on our books.
Hoilett has failed under Hughes and Redknapp. Poor in the Championship. Lack of confidence or lack of desire?
Zamora has been a disaster since he signed if we're honest.

I've just named 8 players in our squad, I could have named more. If all were on a free transfer, which would be snapped up by PL clubs? Phillips because of his age and potential, Barton and Hoilett because of their reputation.

So in my opinion at least 20% of our squad isn't good enough and no other PL club would touch them. Over a season with injuries and suspensions, you're bang in trouble if you've got that high a percentage.

Underperforming and not being good enough are completely different things.

So what you are saying is that our predicament, (2years of boring, negative football, still bottom 3 of the table, messing up in every single transfer window), is more the fault of Phil Beard than Harry Redknapp?

Well lets be honest.. Traore, Hill and SWP don't play do they.. But the others are good enough to keep us up yes, if they are on their game and have the best brought out of them. Zamora is at his max and will do for the rest of the season. Kranjcar and Hoilett are players which HR needs to get more out of.. Kranjcar has been injured so that statement may be unfair on him but there is Phillips, Mutch, Fer as well, if you want to starting picking out players like you are doing... The management arent getting the max out of these players IMO and part of that is down to the management playing them in un-natural positions.. Fer aint a left winger and Vargas aint a right winger.

You've gone off on ANOTHER rant about 8 players you have picked out there but what are you going to do at this stage of the season with them?

You cant say its hard to get rid and buy players and then rant off on another paragraph saying they aint good enough and we basically need to shift them.
You aint gona do anything with these players and how do we know they are good enough if the management isn't getting the best out of them? HR's mentality is buy more instead of getting more out of the players he already has. Hence why he is a 'manager' and not a coach.

Underperforming can come from not being good enough or not having faith shown in order to get the best out of player.

Damien Delaney plays centre half for Palace.. im pretty sure on paper you would say he aint good enough for the Prem, yet he has performed to his max for Palace

Well, you seem to be saying that some of us would blame everything on HR, yet probably the most important aspect, ie. Player Acquisition, you appear to be saying is the domain of PB.

Surely, the manager should be responsible for getting the right players, provided only that he can get them for a fair deal and not allow us to be ripped off in the process. Don't hear too many complaints about Charlie Austin's contract or his ability and desire to be the best he can.

Maybe PB was on holiday that week.
