Interesting differing opinion... Do you know anything about football or are you just all about stats.?

Notice the people calling for Tim now are the same ones who called for Harold a few years back…
They have both built their reputations on cozy relationships with the media. Sherwood didn't improve Spurs at all, he just made them more random. He & a few other coaches basically staged a coup against AVB (whose stubbornness did him no favours) - before that he had done NOTHING to suggest he'd be a decent manager. He has no tactical nous, is guilty of favouritism and will blame others when things go wrong.
Yes, he played Bentaleb, but we don't have any youth players anywhere near his level. Look at Fulham, their youth team is VASTLY better than ours, and they're struggling with them in the Championship.

Think Sherwood would be a mistake tbh. I am hoping that when the time comes we actually have a few options to choose from and not desperate enough to take the first one that comes along. Sherwood comes across as being honest but looks completely out of his depth as a manager. Mind you i notice we just took on one of his mates in our Academy who worked with Sherwood at Spuds. Thats not the first Sherwood connection so maybe it has already been decided?

Whatever you say about him, he did do a good job, he got them playing well and integrated young players well.. he was great with the youth set up as well. A lot of Spurs fans wanted the job given to him.
Im fed up of big names and proven managers.. give it to someone who will build something and give us an identity.Last edited by West London is Rss; 26-01-2015, 05:35 PM.

If Boro fails to get promoted we should have a look at their manager, IMO.QPR

It`s not about who we employ in the position of manager. For me it`s about establishing an ethos through out the club from top to bottom. An ethos that encompasses a playing style that is the QPR way of playing, the style we all know and love, many of us lucky enough to remember."I could think of a number of what I think would be interesting (and not even "gotcha") questions. But they wont be asked"

I would like to think that even when I have disagreements here with other people, they can be easily solved because they understand that it is about the opinion and not the person behind it. I hope you are the same but the signs aren't there."What stats allow you to do is not take things at face value. Just because I disagree - as you kindly pointed out - doesn't make me wrong. who are you to question my knowledge of football when I could easily do the same about you. Guess what, I haven't actually made a single reference to stats for a very long time. But lets ignore that and delve a little deeper into your irrational dislike towards anything I say. I wonder what makes you question every point I make. I could probably say that grass is green and you would take huge issue to that and start bringing up how I made that statement purely on stats with little knowledge of the grass itself. Honestly, get your head out of your rear end and realise that differing opinions make a forum and that doesn't give you the right to personally question the author of those opinions. Now in general, I haven't bad mouthed an individual, I have questioned their points and had intellectual discussion based on numerous factors that are centred around opinions. But for you to come and immediately start questioning me as an individual because my points aren't the same as yours suggests a lack of belief in what you are saying. The sign of a poor argument is changing the core of the argument to the author.

Sherwood made no improvements on the way Spurs played. He sent them out there with no clear plan, just as HR did. Because Spurs have better players than 80% of the league he was able to get a few wins, often in exciting matches, though not because of his management skills. If we do the same here we will get smashed. He also recalled Adebayor, who put in a lot of effort to try and rescue his Spurs career so he could see out that 100k p/w contract - before that AVB had frozen him out and thus had to work with Soldado, who was struggling. And it's worth remembering that Levy & his advisors make the signings at Spurs, if they'd got a striker AVB had wanted and kept him for the season I am CERTAIN that they would have done better than they did under Sherwood. This idea that he was great with the youth etc. is a myth and irrelevant to QPR - our youth players are nowhere near as good as Spurs'.
It's funny you say you don't want big names but then suggest Sherwood, because all that he is is a name. He has no meaningful credentials, he's just made a few mates in the media like a certain HR. It looks like he will inevitably end up here as we've installed his mates behind the scenes, but it will not end well.
