Many of us have had enough of boring football that provides no real success.
In his 2 seasons at QPR I struggle to recall 10 good entertaining matches under his charge.
Not disputing that mate, I was just saying we should continue that. Maybe make the atmosphere at home even more hostile. Personally didnt think it was that great against United but then again I was in X block. You are right in your last sentence, i agree with you, but despite the boring football we need to keep going and picking our boys up. Without us there isnt a hope in hell of us staying up.

Sounds horrible to say this but i am certain a few on here and at the ground have gone so over the top with the slating of harold and tony and the players that they would be absolutely sick if we stayed up and looked like total mugs. Honestly believe that.
I doubt that there are any real QPR fans who want that.

That was not the long term plan. He will be the first to admit he majorly farked up that transfer window which was his downfall. Goes back to my point about us trying to compete with the big boys from day one of TF buying club. We simply weren't ready and ended up with a load of mercenaries here for the money. I would add I wasn't unhappy Hughes was sacked. I'm just comparing him to 'Arry. Hughes got it wrong but at least had a vision for the future.

'Arry has had a long history of buying loads of players for clubs with the seeming hope that some of them might work out. Never been particularly impressed with his transfer dealings.

Aside from Austin, in terms of younger players he has brought in Caulker who has been inconsistent, Mutch who hasn't shown much yet and Phillips who hasn't looked up to Premiership so far. Fer looks ok but even with him not 100% convinced. Sandro injury prone, Niko same. Come to think of it are you really defending his signings? Only player that seems to have improved under him is Austin who very much comes across as a self motivator.

Or maybe, you set your standards ridiculously high for our club. Austin is excellent but obviously your issue with harry will make you overlook his influence and put the success solely on the shoulders of austin just to avoid giving harry props, Phillips was signed in the championship and did well there, Caulker has been extremely consistent with one or two off games only this season. Sandro has played well when involved and I belive he will be huge in the run in. Mutch just needs time and consistent games. Fer has been considered by many outlets to be our best player over charlie. not only these players but Dunne has been excellent for harry and even despite his previous injury issues hasn't really had a recurrence here. Remy was excellent under harry. Only a few bad signings but we have had plenty more good then bad.
Now, if hughes had a vision for the future, he wouldn't have signed bosingwa, Nelsen (albeit an excellent player), Park Ji Sung, Bobby (again, good player but not the most future thinking).

                  • Some of the drivel posted on this forum absolutely astounds me. Those of us who are against HR are still for QPR! And we will continue to post our views on the man even if we don't think he is going anywhere, and those of you who don't like it had better man up and get used to it! Feel free to keep making excuses for him though, like relegation wasn't his fault even though he was in charge for over half the season, etc. It makes a change to hear them coming from somebody other than him.

I can see the wisdom in Tony's decision, on the assumption that his announcement was not the dreaded "vote of confidence" immediately prior to the sack (we can hope). I'm usually in the 'stability' camp but in the case of HR, the crappy football, the crappy tactics, the endless excuses, the poor results, I just can't stick it any more. Still, I have to say that I don't necessarily think we would have a better chance of staying up under a new manager so I guess we just hang on for the ride and hope for the best.

As for those who say we are a small club: of course they are correct, but we are a small club that has been spending like a big club and therefore has every reason to expect the results of a big club. If you pay more money in wages and transfer fees, you have a right to expect a better team! Considering the resources at HR's disposal in his two year tenure, his results have been miserable and the quality of football has been worse.

Here's hoping for better days ahead.

This. We can't take Harry's Realitynap for ever.

From your comments I can only assume you are Harry's love child. How do you slurp your tea?

I have no issues with Harry as a person. Not met him but know people who have spent time with him and they say nice, genuine bloke.

Problem is he has been a very poor appointment for us. Completely failed to keep us up first time around, almost accidentally got us promoted last year after a year of dire football and we have been poor this season, in fact record breakingly bad with our away form and been humiliated in both Cups.

I think Caulker has potential but we didn't sign a bargain. With Mutch am open minded but again paid a lot for him. Fer I like but needs to be played in this proper position regularly for us to really judge. Again hardly a bargain. Sandro I like but no point signing someone if they are injured half the time, precisely the reason he came here as opposed to going somewhere better. Phillips was signed in the Championship but with half an eye on the Premiership.

You make it sound as if 'Arry has signed a crack squad for peanuts. He hasn't. We have a very unbalanced side of players we largely paid top whack for. The only bargain was Austin and we only got him as we couldn't get Hooper. 'Arry has always been good at spending money, he is the Arthur Daley or football.

As for Hughes I'm not here to defend him. Seems to be doing alright at Stoke though. When building a side not all about young, hungry players when starting from where he was. He tried to change things too quickly. On the face of it players like Bosingwa and Park good signings. Same really with Bobby and Nelson. However we ended up with too many players just coming off their peak on mega money and other side of coin hard working players on a fraction of the money. He did not think enough about the dressing room, just about building a squad that looked decent quality on paper.

Ironically we have to an extent the same issue with the current team as we had under Hughes, a very unbalanced squad. 'Arry has now had two years to get the building blocks in place. We have no back up at RB, look weak in centre of defence, short up front, despite having three senior wingers none deemed good enough. I think a decent manager would set the team up better.

                        • Normally this kind of statement precedes the sack by about ten days.

TF is a lovely guy with a lovely airline but utterly bewildered by the complexities of running a football club, so sadly Harry is likely to remain in place. We can always hope.

                          • Think it comes down to money, Sacking Harry now would mean paying him off. Bring in a new manager and if he fails we still go down and have the fine. The same people then would still give Tony a hard time for wasting more money, he can't really win.

We still have a squad that can keep us up, all Harry has to do is play our best side in their correct positions.

I think, Tim Sherwood is his man as the next mangager whatever the outcome of this season. Could be a cheap and wize move to be fair. I hope Sherwood is doing the best he can to improve his faults as a manager while waiting for his turn.
