Yes of course they can stay put they dont have to go anywher, you have to blame the people who negotiate the contracts, whoever gave SWP a 4 year deal 0n £60+k a week wants shooting, went asking what he's done wrong? How about played #### since you come here Shaun!!

Can't blame a chap for expecting their employer to stick to terms of employment contract. Problem lies within the contract which should ideally have a performance review structure that can either reward or penalise the player. Don't s'pose many players would sign such a contract and just find a mug club to commit to paying mega bucks every week for x amount of years.

Of course he is entitled to do so, however the point he should be thinking of is that his career is going down the pan whilst he is not playing.
I think he should negotiate a pay off and try and find a new club.
Clubs should try and do better at negotiating contracts so that situations like this don't occur too frequently, maybe by offering less in basic pay and more in bonuses for appearances, performance and trophies won or League target met.

Yes they have the right too, more fool us for giving them the long highly paid contract. Shows the player in question to be a money grabber who values earning a few more quid on top of their already earnt millions over their credability & career though. You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.
