Sorry frapps confused by the question you are asking. Are you saying who do we need to sign to get promoted or who do we need to stay in the Premiership if promoted???

It's far too early to say if the squad we have is good enough to get promoted. If the deal for Watson isn't extended or made permanent, or we have an injury to Simpson or Routledge then who knows how we may do. We have quantity of players but we don't have a depth of quality. Would Agyemang or Pellicori score the goals if we lost Vine or Simpson? If Watson returns to Wigan is Faurlin experienced enough to form a partnership with Rowlands? Will Rowlands be fit for the whole season? There are more and more questions but if this team continues to click and stay injury free then they will be there or thereabouts come May. But if we suffer from injuries I don't believe the squad has the depth to be a top 6 side.

Who should we sign? If we can sign Heaton permanently then great. He had a solid performance against Chelsea and has youth on his side and will only improve. An attacking left back, although Borrowdale is defensively ok he offers nothing going forward. There are better defensive left backs than him who also offer an attacking threat. We need competition and cover at left back so for me this signing is a must in January. We also need more firepower. There are some quality forwards struggling to even get on the bench at their Premiership clubs who would prefer some game time than nothing at all.

      Nail on head by SPC.

If we kept this current crop of players injury and suspension free for the whole season, which means extending certain loans or making them permanent, we could finish in the top 6.

My honest, realistic head tells me we will not keep all our key first team players injury/suspension free, and we will not hold onto players such as Watson. So, I think we will finish about 8th-10th.

sorry about the confusion guys. I just think that the squad we have now dosn't really compare to the class of 93. If we were to get to the premiership i don't think that this squad would keep us up there. We would need to invest some big money in the first year or so otherwise we will go to Manu and loose by quite a few. I know you might not agree but they didn't play their first team aginst us, therefore meaning thqat we will loose by alot to them.

Burnley last season showed that they can play the football and have the squad to compete in the Premiership and to a point that has been proven this season. But even they who strengthen over the summer are still finding the Premiership a massive step up.

We can all say this player can make the step up and this player can't but the proof really would be when they are playing week in and week out. It's too early to say now but will the likes of Eagles, Kightly, Scotland, Ebanks-Blake etc make the step up this season? None of them have made an early impressions so who knows if Buzsaky, Connolly or Gorkss would do any better.

Just watched the extended highlights on World. Barnsley had us on the ropes for periods of this game. Wing backs and a striker pls.
