He is an improvement on what we got at the moment. Better then Hoilett, Phillips, SWP, Adel (assuming he still the problem he has always been) etc etc.

Yes I remember 3 at the back we bought players all summer to accommodate the system and then abandoned it after 2 games

I get a lot of stick here for showing Fifa stats, but I'm sure nasser can vouch they're a reliable indicator of a players skills. Check the reviews too.

I always support fifa Stats given that I am the one who generally decides our players' stats. He really has been amazing and if you look at how many in form cards and team of the season cards he had last season, you can tell he has been excellent. People will probably judge the fact that I am talking about this with passion though haha.

What is your point? I was a huge advocate when we came up with it, when it didn't work, we changed it up and since then, Isla has been one of the best full backs in the country by a mile and vargas is comfortable out wide. Nothing wrong with change if things go wrong.

If things don't work we must change it, see nothing wrong with that.

I don't have a problem with taking the lad on loan, I think the clear idea is to play him around Charlie who is not a one up back to goal striker. Clearly something went wrong for him at WHU, so judgement suspended. I still don't think Harry has been street smart tactically and has hung onto too many who have lost pace at the expense of promoting through the ranks. But we have what we have, so fingers crossed. It might all fall into place for him.

I have a strong suspicion Kevin G is more astute and forward thinking and would love to see him given the reins but it wont happen this season.

Anybody know if it's just a loan or do we have an option to buy.

If he starts performing, they will take him back for sure.
Most Hammers not happy that he has gone.
I see that as a good thing considering there league position.

If anyone wants to read the West Ham forum about Mauro Zarate.

I just stole this from their forum.

Just wondered if we had an option to buy like with the Chileans

When you have an option to buy is the fee agreed at same time as loan?

I don't think so. It probably depends on what is decided between the clubs when the loan is agreed. We apparently have an agreement to buy both Isla and Vargas at the end of the season if we stay up, but a price does not seem to have been agreed. So it sounds like we have the first refusal.

What I am trying to say is that say when we loaned Vargas for example do you agree a permanent transfer fee at the time?
I read somewhere it was £8million.
But what if Vargas goes on a scoring spree in the last few months, can they turn round then and say we want £15million ?

I'm pleased we brought in what looks like a promising skilled player who can score, it could be interesting if he has a chemistry with Vargas and Isla, we can only hope!
