I voted YES but he should only be backed with loan signings, too much of a risk buying players in case we do go down. Pay salary's but be able to walk away in 5 months time if necessary.

Why does it matter if Harry wanted someone else, he got us Austin and we should be happy. Isla and Vargas both have clauses in their loan contracts to a permanent signing on staying up. I believe 8mil and 12mil for Isla and Vargas Respectively. If a scout told him then good on him, he has done the job he is hired to do. Harry sanctioned the signing and therefore it is a Harry signing. Remy did only play 13 games for us and did everything he could to keep us up. When we went down, he never complained, never made an issue for Harry and we got 2 mil for his one year away and he got into the world cup squad for it. Caulker is a great signing for any price. Brilliant centre back with leadership qualities at a young age and will blossom at a club like this. If he stays here for his career then we will love this signing, if not, we will definitely make a good profit on him.

I voted yes because I believe without signings QPR will go down. The squad lacks cover and currently includes a few players who do not get selected and some that should not and be replaced i.e. SWP & Taarabt - Traore, Hoilett and Ferdinand perhaps even Phillips should be added to the latter list (although I still think he can improve if he gets as many chances as Hoilett has had).

In response to the loan deals for Isla & Vargas being made permanent I would not pay £12 Million for Vargas and be wary about paying even hf that. He has only scored 1 goal and had about 2 or 3 assists.

I voted "Yes" but with a small budget, I'd also tell him that he needs to sell players to generate more, it's all his to spend.

Anyway i was wondering what you thought of this. Back under Hughes' reign, he was given funds to sign Djibril Cissé, Nedum Onuoha and Bobby Zamora and just kept us up.
Hughes took over on jan 10th and we were 17th with 17pts from 20 games...we are currently 16th 19pts from 20 games.
So do you think it's the right time for the board to close the purse strings, bearing in mind what the FL have in mind for us?...Or should they back us to stay up and be more prudent in the summer...whichever division we're in?
Not sure what the question actually means. If it means allowing Harry to spend whatever he wants then the answer is no (and would be no for any manager). If it means that they look at each prospect and then makes a decision, then the answer is yes. However I agree that unless somebody exceptional comes along, we should only have loans.

Because they didn't part company with the old boy when they were originally going to - ie at the close of last term - and have stuck with him thus far, they're between a rock and a hard place. It raises an interesting question: if Harry went (which wont happen), would the incumbent get any funding? Is there no money for Harry because once bitten etc? Relegation could prove to be more than usually expensive this time round. So do you a) gamble with Harry and minimal wedge b) gamble with a new manager and a limited budget c) gamble on the fact that if we go down the legal situation will resolve itself in our favour and not spend at all? Because if we are relegated, there will be a new guv'nor.

This whole scenario is down to the way the club has been run under the current regime. It's a going to be a really difficult time as long as the Fernandez / Team Harry alliance stands.

I mentioned hughes as a guideline to how much backing i was thinking .......£10 mill?

No. He would just squander it on his old has-been cronies. He has had two years to build his team. Time for them to prove whether they are good enough.

For me its a definite Yes.

We lack in the same areas we have struggled with for last couple of seasons and a small investment in the right areas to me secures our safety for this year and banks another 60 - 80 mill or whatever it is for staying up.

Personally I would fork out for someone like Defoe or Rhodes and also would look to spend some money on a decentish winger...

                      Voted NO.

Presumably with Zarate signed now. Sign a pacy left footed winger on loan that can cross a ball and that is it. Work with what you have.

Maybe board knows that Harry will quit after the season and don't want him to spend money on players which may don't fit new manager's plan. I think they should back him to buy, because we need some speed and creativity our squad. If we just could get rid of the dead wood, then HR might get more funds, but it's easier said than done, because who would be so desperate to buy our leftovers?

Not sure it's a valid question. The board are backing Harry - with loan signings, not purchases. Either one still costs money. Especially when you consider that, unless we can sell someone, whoever gets dropped from the 25-man squad to make room for the loans will still be getting paid.

Ehmer is out on loan so the first signing (Zarate) shouldnt impact too much. Any further signings will mean dropping and continuing to pay someone like SWP or Tarbs. That thought sickens me.

Unfortunately, that is the lot of a QPR fan all-too-often these days mate. Still, it could always be worse.
