They need to come to their senses and act on what they already know.
Not necessarily. Maybe they realise that the standard of players available to buy during January is generally low. Maybe they've also learnt that buying in January does not guarantee we will stay up and don't want to be lumbered with players with new contracts. Or maybe FFP is a factor. It may have absolutely nothing to do with HR at all.

Loan with option to buy makes pretty good sense to me.

I think that is closer to the truth. If the board had no faith in him, he wouldn't still be there and he wouldn't have been allowed to buy players last summer.

      • I was one of those who have been unimpressed with 'Arry full stop since he came to us but given our recent home run of games I was reluctant to rock the boat too much by changing manager. However yesterday was an absolute disgrace and showed to me that the recent upturn in home form is largely down to winning ugly as opposed to well against teams mainly around where we are. We now have fewer and harder home games for rest of season. Away from home we have the joint worst start in the Premiership ever and another defeat will see us on our own as worst! Redknapp is heaping embarrassment on us this season. I'm not deluded enough to think we should be mid table or anything but we aren't that bad!

He blamed 4 games in 10 days for the defeat yesterday. Someone else made the point most of the players starting had only had sporadic, if any, involvement in those games. We were playing a team 2 divisions lower than us. Quite simply they were better set up and motivated than we were. That is down to 'Arry. Clough spanked his backside well and proper. 'Arry must have a backside like a baboon after yesterday.

I think we have a fair chance of relegation under 'Arry so in my view may as well get shot of 'Arry and his cronies now rather than drag it out. I have not enjoyed the last two years. After taking over from Hughes if anything he made us worse. Last year the football was dire and we scraped promotion. We were very lucky. Won't happen though. If 'Arry had any self respect he would resign but he won't. Tony understandably has far more important things taking up his time at the moment and is a 'Arryphile so looks like we are stuck with him.

Really? So if Laudrup is so good, why did Swansea sack him and put an inexperienced manager in his place?

Personal disputes ? On the flip side if laudrup is so bad how did he continue to get swansea to play attractive expansive attacking football while obtaining a top 10 finish and setting the foundations for this inexperienced manager to continue the good work ? How has a club like swansea got the likes of Wilfred bony and gomis while we are stuck watching bobby zamora blow out of his #### ?

Laudrup is a decent manager. Arrogant sod, mind, but good at what he does.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

Personally thought Brendan Rodgers and even Marinez before him laid the foundations. From all accounts Laudrup almost tore the foundations apart if you believe what has been said about the lack of disciplined training, cliques forming, bust-ups, etc.

But he did win a cup so I'm sure he could save a club like ours from relegation.

                • Read the wiki on him. As I believe, he said 8th was high enough one season when he realised there would be no funds for a european campaign, if they went higher, and fell out with the chairman over it. But also was laidback and not interested in a 'win every game forever mentality'.

                  • Sack Warnock, sack Hughes, sack Rednapp!....Not the answer and to be fair, we're doing ok in the league at mo so why?....Bit worried about remaining fixtures so I'm not oblivious to the situation.

Probably right Kev. Love the RUNDMC quote, even if unintentional

                        • Personally would be delighted with loan to buy deals on every signing, doesn't force any requirement on us to hold contracts for longer than we want and it will give players the incentive to earn a long term contract here. No real negatives. If we run out of loans, perhaps a cheeky Samba-esque deal where we 'buy' the player and if we go down, his former employers 'buy' him back for the same price.
"What stats allow you to do is not take things at face value. The idea that I trust my eyes more than the stats, I just don't buy that because I've seen magicians pull rabbits out of hats and I know I just know that rabbit's not in there." - Billy Beane

                            • No need to sack Harry atm imo. I think a change needs to be made in the summer if I am being honest but right now we sit on 19 points and out of the bottom 3 on course to stay up. We could easily be on 23/24 points if a bit of lady luck had smiled on us. Not a bad return for half through the season.

I expected us to struggle and we have but Harry will see u through to the summer imo. I am frustrated by some of the players and tactics ect and two buys costing 15 mill in sandro and mutch haven't worked out.

We are a small club doing very well in the toughest league in the world so imo no need to wreck the team spirit right now. Rebuild the management early doors in the summer for me.
