  • So who still thinks Harry is bluffing?

When Harry first said that there was no budget for transfers only loans in this window the loudest reaction on here was that this was just bluff to make sure clubs didn't overcharge us. But now we have confirmed interest in a loan for Zarate and unconfirmed interest in a loan for the Chelsea kid plus persistent rumours about loans for Townsend or Lennon, does anyone still think he was bluffing? Not me. Added to which Harry downplaying interest in Defoe when a few months ago he was talking it up, with the high transfer fee always cited as the stumbling block (nothing in it for his parent club to loan out such an old player who becomes more of a declining asset every month).

If we are going down the loan route alone I don't blame the club with the fear of relegation and fines. But we are going to need quite a few loans - at least one striker, a winger and a defender at a minimum. Plus we already have the two Chileans on loan. Be a test of Harry's management skills to motivate so many loan players while keeping players happy who are fully owned by us but probably being kept out of the team by loans.

    Thoughts?

Niko on loan also. Can only have 5 in the squad I think, so one may have to miss out. 2

According to this article international loans are limitless and domestic loans are a limit of 2. So far we do not have any domestic loans.

2 loans and 2 purchased. Around £12m spent. That's my estimation. CF, CB, CM, Wide player.

Whatever he does, do it at the blinking start of January!....It's not obligatory to leave it until 3 minutes before the window closes!!....Just saying!

I'm confused as to what happened to the funds we received for Remy. 1) we did not pay for him so some of the transfer fee went to Marseilles), 2) the funds are being used elsewhere or 3) Chelsea haven't paid for him.

                We don't need a CB.

We didn't spend last Jan when Austin was injured so doubt we will this window. Will be loans I reckon.

I don't think he was bluffing, I think he was whining and lining up his excuses. Amounts to the same thing though.

I don't think he's bluffing as I think a deal for Defoe would be done by now if we had funds. I'm a bit pissed off with the owners if I'm honest as there were funds on deadline day but not now!

No doubt we'll panic after getting beat against Burnley, United and Stoke and bring in poor quality on deadline day.

That's why I think he may be bluffing.
There may be some cash to spend, but the position we are in we would be held to ransom for certain players.
Zarate would be a good addition as a loan, and also has something to prove with all the talk recently.
Think we will maybe add 3 as loans but snap up 1 on the sly for a fee.

How many loans can we have? We've already got Niko Vargas and Isla.
