They were on the ropes at the end, and if hoilet could cross better or the ref had given us that pen shout. Thats why i said that first bit mate. Performances are frustrating but we are not embarrassing ourselves against the champions league sides so far. A win and a few draws will come, im so confident of it.

They were hanging on, most definitely. I just happen to take the view that our players are good enough to apply that sort of pressure from the start and be successful on occasions in doing so. I honestly don't believe it was because they only had ten men either. I just think that their defence is very suspect and likely to make constant errors when pressure is applied. Not applying any for over an hour sort of lets them off the hook in my view.

Still, game's finished now so for the umpteenth time I'll say that I'm sure we must have learnt by now. 🙊

For a man who raves about stats and probability why would a record of 9 straight defeats and what 5 away wins in 40 suddenly change to five away wins in our remaining away games

Hence the frustration yesterday and at OT. Both teams weakness were their defences but we go out with no intention of exposing this. Instead of attacking their weakness we played to their strengths

If you are gonna complain about my stats, at least get yours right first. Its actually 12 wins in our last 40 away matches league, going all the way back to the 1 - 0 at Chelsea a couple of seasons back. The reason I think we will is because stats can say plenty about something and we have shown a huge improvement in the Quality of football away from home. Since the West Ham match, we have played better away from home and all it will take is one spark in January to light the fuse.

Not complaining about yours stats per say simply enquring what this belief that things are going on turn around is based on based on our historical record of last 2.5 seasons in prem

Performances have improved granted but the facts are we are still losing away game after game

And your stats on away wins I'm assuming your counting championship games to as I was referring to premier league games in recent times of which I can not recall 12?????

Warnock from memory won at wolves stoke and one other place I think
Hughes won f uck all away games
Harry won at chelsea and Southampton

                Where were the rest??

The reason why I haven't been moaning about this is because we were not trying before, we weren't going forwards. All I wanted is the players to try and get forwards to get in the positions, and that's what they've been doing. The only thing I can moan about now is the quality of crosses and passes, I guess you can't have everything.

The window opens in a few days time, I'm praying Harry brings in the right players and get's rid of the players wasting our money.

This is why I'm hopeful in January that things will improve. Harry knows that we need to play with wingers with pace away from home to take advantage of the bigger pitch. Our midfield isn't skilled enough to hold onto the ball however for 90 minutes so we play it safe for a long period in order to then hit the opposition at the end with the pace. The only thing that went wrong was our final ball from hoilett and Vargas. Were those better, we could have come away with more. In Jan we can bring in other players who can deliver hopefully.

Of course I included them, it was you who once told me that my results were skewed, well here they aren't. The squad is similar and I can't just Ignore a whole year.

Well reference was to top flight last three times in it where we have won as I said from memory 5games in three seasons away from home

What's the point of comparing championship away wins at a lower level of football to how we perform at the highest level.

Squad has changed less over three years than four so you can see whether the players are at fault or the manager or the club itself

An example Wests is Stoke, notoriously strong at home under pulis but in his last 3 years in charge, they won in total 8 away league games out of 57 (14%). Their positions from 2010-11 to 2012-13 were 13th, 14th and 13th.

Even Last year under Mark Hughes, in their strongest league finish ever i believe, they only managed 3 away wins (West Ham, Aston Villa and West Brom). Many teams finish well despite being notoriously poor away from home.
