I take there is nothing written into the deal with Jay Simpson that we have an option to buy at the end of his loan?

I think Simpson is going to be a very good championship player - not a million miles difference from Connolly. They let Connolly go as he wanted to play first team football.Arsenal and many other big clubs...only want the finished article and at present Simpson would not cut it at that level.....Bit of a rock and a hard place for players like him....Needs regular quality football to prove himself , but big clubs are unwilling, unless you make a Rooney type impression , to give youngsters a long run.
Look at Theo - took him ages to really establish in the Arsenal team.
I hope that Simpson continues his learning experience with us, enjoys the playing and winning factors and jumps ship to us.WBA Millwall and now us more or less tells you Arsenal don't really rate him that highly.

Even though its still early days id be delighted if we decided to sign him, i get the feeling although he has already scored a few he wont be massively prolific, but he will score his fair share, good target man, strong, and quick....
Would be wonderful to see a hooper or a beckford play alongside him..Cant believe it, ive been PWOPER MUGGED ORF...

He and the Man U goal keeper are likely to be available in January for small fees. Simpson is unlikely to push into the Arsenal 1st team and Heaton won't ever make the bench what with Van Der Sar, Foster, Kuszczak and Zieler all ahead of him (all of which have a squad number BUT HEATON doesn't!). Heaton is believed to want to make the move permanent already and thinks he could challenge Cerny for the No.1 spot in the very near future. Discussion have taken place already between club and if we decide to go ahead with a move for both then they should cost small compensation fee for their schooling at both their parent clubs.
Fingers crossed they both keep performing...

If we weren't prepared to pay £1.9m for Cox will we pay this sort of amount for Simpson? How much is he worth?
+ Hope your right Dazzer :bad_smile:Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
And many more mistakes
LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

Fingers crossed they both keep performing...I have supported Rangers for 55 seasons, since March 1969.
