Is anyone still not convinced about him at right back? I thought he was superb again yesterday, not only in defence where he was strong and quick, but also going forward. He is linking up well with Routledge and when we are attacking becomes another midfield player, hence his marauding run and great shot for his goal.
And unlike Delaney - yet again we heard those familiar words on TV last night when Ipswich were getting done 4-0: "oh no, and Delaney's got caught in attack, now Newcastle are breaking down - and score" - he doesn't seem to get caught out. Fully accept Ramage is a likeable bloke and a solid professional but he doesn't bring nearly as much to the team as Legs.
Wish I cd be so positive about Stewart. Clumsy challenge for their penalty which cd easily have cost us the game. I thought for a while he might have stopped doing that kind of thing but for me he should be well behind Connolly and Hall when they return to fitness. And for our sakes I hope its soon because Stewpeas cd have a torrid night at Toon...

Ok, Legs is a dilemma. I feel Ramage is a better defender. Legs is obviously better going forward. Their first goal yesterday came about from a free kick where Legs gave away a pathetic and needless free-kick in a dangerous area, when they were posing no danger.

Funnily enough, he did it again later in the game - same situation.

Even worse, he did it in the 91st minute of Palace's final game in the Premiership when they went down. They were drawing, he made a stupid challenge when there was no danger (in the right back position whilst playing right back) and the opposition scored, sending Palace down. Surely you'd learn from that???

So for me, the verdict is out still.

Thought he played very well against Barnsley and on yesterdays showing alone he is the better option than Ramage.

Thing is though we still have a section of support who dislike Ramage and they well say Legiertwood is a brilliant regardless of whether he is **** poor like agaisnt Peterborough.

Leigertwoods passing can let him down occasionally but he really can strike a ball. Has the ability to be a very good player, but sometimes he seems just a bit too casual. More than capable of reaching double figures if he had a bit more belief in his ability.

Also, with the changes we have made this season we appear to have a lot of small men in our team once again, so it is important that our defenders are tall.

Love Ramage and feel sory for him being dropped BUT have to say Lega at RB is fantastic, bombs forward well and links up great with Routledge etc etc.

Also thought Borrowdale had a great game.

As for Stewpeas - FFS what has happened to him? He's god awful at times

I think Legs is growing into the position, and he should provide goals from there, which Ramage probably wouldn't.
Funnily enough, yesterdays goal reminded me of when Les Ferdinand was just coming through, in that you wish he would do that more often, because he has the ability. Fortunately, Les realised that and the rest is history!
