  • Shame Phillips can't do it when it matters.

Jordon Mutch and Nedum Onuoha are among the QPR players to feature in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Millwall.

Hopefully we can shop him out in January (Along with SWP) and bring in someone who is good enough for this league.
I should probably write something insightful here

Good to hear those players are coming back from injury. As for Phillips, Millwall at Harlington's not exactly Arsesnal at the Emirate's.... In other words IMO he's still not Prem quality.

One of the posters on here has been advocating him for a striker's role for sometime, he played up front in this game, he has all the tools, we now have a coaching team in place, let's see how he goes.
        Kept the faith!

If Phillips can get his shooting sorted out, he'll be a very useful player. In our poorest performances early on he was the man that got into the good positions, but his finishing let him down badly.

A few goals in the ressies may seem like no big deal, but if it gives him some confidence, it could be a big positive for us.

Didn't he start a couple of games this season (and I think last season) up front and looked completely lost?

I really thought he could develop into a good inside forward so it could well be me you refer to but I have run out of patience with him now he just makes me angry cos as you say he's got the tools but not the self belief ,I think his only chance now is if Glen is still in touch with Eileen may be she can eradicate his ghosts

Not sure that he does have tools - his first touch and technical ability is very poor. His game is essentially pace and power but if he's not given space he's unable to exploit that.

No he's got more than that he's got good ability on the ball if he hasn't got time think and does it off the cuff

I think there's a player there somewhere . He's just a much rougher less rounded player than I thought we were getting . He's definatly got something , smashed it at blackpool and out on loan at other clubs . The qpr curse has definatly affected this one !!

I too think there is a very good player in Matt Phillips but this season when receiving the ball he seems shocked and surprised which normally means his first touch looks poor and the ball runs up his leg or bounces awkwardly and his imputus is lost.

I have noticed Arry has perservered with him by making him sub for most games and eventually see him playing as a striker due to his six foot plus frame.

Think this bloke could do with a loan spell in the Championship. Needs to play games/find a bit of form.

I'm another that thinks this guy could play up front.

Can't tackle, can't head and no end product another dud we have wasted good money on.

Watch Matty Phillips' first QPR goal against Bournemouth at Loftus Road.

                            Good shout tho.
