I think you're looking for the most negative possible scenario here.
Because it is the most likely outcome, it has happened at QPR so many times already.

Do you think Rio is that type of man?

Do you think playing badly negates any respect he had amongst his colleagues?

kirill im not ITK like some on here, so dont truly know how well he is received by the lads in the dressing room, but by all accounts he is liked. latest account I heard was Charlie on Open All R's.

either way, you are missing the point.. the case here is the ONE player youd drop in Jan. and you cant deny that Rio is just marginally more useful than SWP.

So what? He has been sh*te for us.
We don't get points for Rio being liked in the dressing room.

Yep agree with this. Just because he's 'Rio Ferdinand' doesn't mean he should get any special treatment. If you don't perform you get dropped!!

You don't like Rio as a player, that's fine, but why start guessing at how he's viewed by the other players, and accuse him of being unworthy of respect, and a bad influence.

He played badly for a few games and is currently out of the team. He could be a candidate for being dropped from the 25 in January (and in that event, he'd likely retire), but there's no need to make stuff up.

That wasn't what Kirill was saying, and no-one would disagree with that.

Any previously excellent player that comes to us and invariably turns to sh*te is unworthy of respect and there have been too many of them. And if he is still respected by some players despite being useless for us, then all the worse for the team. I wish we just stopped signing expensive big names and turned to younger, hungrier and cheaper grafters who still have some ambition left on the pitch above their bank account.

And IMO a player shouldn't lose respect and be accused of being a negative influence in the dressing room, just because he's had a few bad games at a new club.

You may think he's done now, and you may be right. This move might have been a mistake for him and the club. Doesn't make him a bad player, or a bad influence.

I don't care what he's done for England and Man Utd, I haven't seen him do the business for QPR. It's the here and now that matters, not past glories.
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

point is, in the end if the theme of the article was which 2 player would you drop? I would drop both.

Doesn't mean a man isn't due some respect from his colleagues, nor that that respect is a bad thing.

His poor performances in half a dozen games at a new club, that was in terrible form as a whole team, does not make him a bad player, and certainly doesn't make him a damaging presence in the squad.
