Harry just on Talksport and said no way would we pay 5-6 million for a 32 year old or the wages being banded about but would love to have him if deal could be done. So the story of 10 million plus 80k a week seems to be made up then.......really ! :-)

Geng how many goals he's scored when been on the pitch for longer than 1 half over a 30 game span in the PL?
Here are his past few seasons:
2013/14
14 starts, 15 subs: 1 goal
2012/13
34(7): 11 goals (10 by Christmas)
2011/12
25(14): 11 goals
Some more analysis in this article by a Spurs fan. It was actually written during his last spell of decent form in this country (Defoe scored 10 goals by Christmas 2012 and only one in the rest of that season):
Some key quotes:
In his 57 games since the 2010/11 season, Defoe has scored 20 goals from a total of 181 shots, or a miserable one goal from every nine attempts (11%).
From 10 full seasons as a Premier League player, Defoe has never scored 20 league goals in a single season. Defoe’s best return to date is his 18 goals for Spurs in 2009/10. However, five of those came in the 9-1 stroll against Wigan, meaning that he scored only 13 league goals from his remaining 30 starts and three sub appearances that term, nothing special.
The consequences of Defoe wasting so many opportunities to every goal he scores can be seen in his woeful number of assists, a meagre 31 assists from 352 Premier League career games. This goes far beyond his self-professed “striker’s instinct” and boils down to a selfishness which ultimately costs far more points than his one goal every 2.5 games has helped to win.

The Mirror's LA editor isn't about to fabricate something like that. The irony of course is that our interest in Defoe is exactly the sort of thing that makes him right about the club.

Journalists can make up whatever the fvck they like, its their job to make up stories to sell articles.
If you 'trust' journos then I would seriously re-think what type of people you put your trust in.

Would like to point out she is a massive QPR fan and loves the club, if you believe she would make something like that up then you would believe anything to be honest. I remember when she originally tweeted about that particular interview months back too so it's not as if it's something she's just made up on the spot in the last few days.
