We better snap him up before Lester start sniffing around him, they're beginning to panic and they have the money...

I have said this many times before when the speculation comes up, he's a huge risk due to injury, he is struggling with a groin issue now and it was reported that he needed surgery for a sports hernia! I got to watch him play quite a bit for Toronto FC and when he was healthy he was tearing up MLS, 11 goals in 18 matches, a very instinctive scorer! He rarely played after Nelsen was sacked, maybe because of injury, maybe because him and his mother wanted out, it's hard to say! I think he would be a risk but if a reasonable contract could be worked out and his health proven maybe he would be worth it!@gatorTFC

I assume/hope and pray that 90k is made up bllocks from his agent, who obviously wants to talk him up as a top PL player rather than a has-been out for his last payday.
Some of the arguments in favour of this are just ridiculous. HE MIGHT KEEP US UP WHICH IS WORTH MILLIONS!!!!11 Well so might everyone we might sign. PL survival is worth more than Angel Di Maria, let's buy him too. The best striker in the Championship or the Dutch league might keep us up too.
Everyone jumping on Defoe's career goalscoring record ignoring the fact he was crap in his last year at Spurs (Adel scored at about 4x the rate in the PL, ho hum) and the MLS stuff is essentially league 1 or 2. Bradley Wright-Phillips is top scorer there with 29. Presumably that means you guys think we should sign him for £180k per week?

He's a striker who relies on being quick, just turned 32 and we want to give him a three year deal. I'm genuinely shocked so many people aren't laughing at this or getting angry at the fact TF has supposedly spent three years creating some sort of professional super-club behind the scenes full of the best non-playing staff money can buy and the best our scouts can come up with is Portsmouth 2006.
Who is out there? Well why don't we get some scouts to have a look? Why don't we pay a manager who will bother take a look?
Who here knew much about Pelle or Sakho before the summer? That's what half decent scouting looks like. Both far cheaper than Defoe and won't be earning thousands per week in #### splinters come late 2015.
