For me he doesn't get enough with his head. I do love him though.

He's the highest scoring, English Born player in the Premier League

But to answer the question, miles away.
I should probably write something insightful here

Mr Barton is now asking the same question.

No matter how badly they are playing, Rooney, Sturridge, Welbeck, Walcott, and Lambert will be Englands attacking players for the next few years.

I hope he does not play - all mentioned here go backwards with their carrier

Rooney's plays just off the 1 striker usually and Walcott's out wide. Sturridge or Welbeck as the lone striker. Lambert will get dropped soon. Austin may get his chance if he keeps this form up until xmas
"When you went to the corner and saw our fans celebrating the way they were you just wanted to be part of it" - Shaun Derry after we beat the scum 1-0

                    He will take Lambert's place.

If Charlie, Bobby & Eduardo continue to do a job I fear Tony will think, "Nah no need for that striker in January after all".

Had Rooney scored with that cheeky back heel Sky would be showing it every 5mins.... Just saying.... he needs to still be scoring regularly into the NY before he gets considered I reckon...

I remember someone describing him as a bit like Miroslav Klose. All round game not great, but scores...and he had a pretty decent career...!

I don't think we put enough crosses in the box, both Bobby and Charlie would get on the end of them.

Absolutely this. Charlie's main source of goals at Burnley was feeding off excellent crosses. We haven't had a decent crosser at Rangers for bloody ages. Hoilett can't cross, Vargas is good but not a crosser, Phillips delivers a good cross, but hasn't done enough to merit a place. Niko might be the man, but where to play him? IF only Phillips could get going...
