  • Clive Allen: Redknapp 'looks tired' and has lost his spark

"He will always it [to be a part of football] because he has the most insatiable appetite for producing football teams that can win football matches. He will be devastated at the position QPR are in. He will be looking at every possibility in terms of bringing one individual into the football club or making a change to the personnel within the football club. He will be looking at the structure of the team and the way it shapes up to win the next game because that’s the way Harry works, he loves it.

But obviously having worked closely with him over that period of time [at Tottenham], I would say he looks tired. He looks like a combination of things over the last three years have maybe taken their toll and I don’t see that spark I know he has. He will never lose the passion because he’s a football man. Knowing him and looking at him I feel there’s maybe a little edge he hasn’t had this season as he’s had before.

When you think it's over a thousand games he’s managed, there’s no one with the experience he has and actually no one with the nous that would get Queens Park Rangers out of the predicament they find themselves in now."

How about Rodney's views on the situation, yesterday on Talksport .........

"QPR have been very poor under HR for the whole time he's been there BUT TF should keep him on because he (TF) keeps talking about having stability at the club"

That makes complete sense doesn't it ............. NOT !
"Steve, do you think 25k is a good option when there are indications that within four years, new stadiums on average have increased attendances of 60%?
For us that would mean around 29k."

So we lost Sparkie, now we've lost our spark. But we've still got spark, our mascot. Is that right?

This is why I said he should have gone after the play off win. he was thinking of retiring which suggest he knew his desire/ability (for want of a better word) was fading. He could have gone out on a high and taken QPR back to the Prem (he came to keep them up but failed so winning promotion achieved that aim).

His stint as manager of QPR is up it's just a matter of time when he goes.

In retrospect I think we can all see it would have been best for all Stan, but he would have had to have walked as we couldn't have possibly fired him. And, unfortunately, that boat has now sailed.

You know he is a friend of mine and I wish the team was doing better for him, I must say his recent interviews make it look like he has lost some spark! Hindsight is great but it is looking like he should have packed it in after the promotion match, if we had 3 or 4 more points many of the fans would be happy and not calling for his head!

Not sure if 3 or 4 points would actually be an advantage (it would probably mean we had been lucky). If we are going to change managers, it has to be now and not later in the season. The problem is that a lot of the players have been hand picked by HR, so not sure what will happen then. This is why I think the new manager should be Hoddle (or Mclaren). Any other manager could get flack from the players.

I watched his interview on sky and official yesterday and I would say that is the first time this season he has interviewed like he had a bit of fire in his belly was quick with his answers and looked up for the battle

Let's hope it shows in the performance
