  • Rio: I'm no mug & know I've not been at my best, but things will turn around

    Interview with Evening Standard

“It’s early in the season and things will turn around — I’m confident of that,” said Ferdinand. “I’m not a mug. I understand that I have not done as well as I should have in certain games and situations.

    That's a refreshingly honest interview.
'Only a Ranger!' cried Gandalf. 'My dear Frodo, that is just what the Rangers are: the last remnant in the South of the great people, the Men of West London.' - Lord of the Rings, Book II, Chapter I - Many Meetings.

I think we will see a different team when Barton comes back.
If you have a player that gives his all on then the others will up there game as well.
Barton, Sandro and Fer are gonna be great this season when we get up n running.

I wish they'd stop talking about strikers......we need to create some flaming chances first. We're getting battered in every game we play. If we were missing chance after chance i'd agree but we're not.

Phillips and Hoillet need to just concentrate on getting the ball in the box and doing there job as Wingers!!
Beat there man, then get the ball in the box!!
Remember Lee Sharpe for United, he knew he had the pace to beat anyone in front of him and used to just beat them with his pace down the wing and get the ball in the box.
Phillips and Hoillet could beat most just by kicking the ball down the wing then beating the defender and get the ball in!!!

We haven't been battered in any of the home games.

Easy for him to say but it's another thing he and the team changing how they are performing as they don't just need to improve slightly they need to go up four or five gears to be competitive

Agree never mind the chance's it's the defence that's costing us so Rio and Co need to sort it out because him form along with Caulker and Isla is DIABOLICAL
