Queens Park Rangers defender Rio Ferdinand believes that it would be "crazy" for the club to sack faltering manager Harry Redknapp.

The R's have made a slow start to the season since returning to the top flight, picking up just four points from their first seven games to find themselves rooted to the foot of the table.

However, Ferdinand says that it is now down to the underperforming players to turn the club's fortunes around in the coming weeks, starting against Liverpool this weekend.

"We are not even in double figures for the amount of games played yet," the former England international told the Evening Standard. "To push the panic button now would be crazy in my eyes.

"Harry still comes across to me as a fighter and a man with a lot of fight left in him. He wants to get the club out of this situation we're in. It's not for the lack of trying.

"No one wants to see their manager get sacked. It was not nice to see it happen to David Moyes at Manchester United last season and I wouldn't want to see it here. It's down to us as players, as well as the coaching staff, to start turning results around."

Ferdinand has made seven appearances for the West London outfit so far this season.

just fark off from my club the pair of you.

Course Rio wants him there. He knows full well Harry is the only man on this planet that will play him in the premiership week in week out!

Never heard a player mentioning coaching staff before when a team is struggling..suggests that Jordan could be the root of our problems.

I don't have the same antipathy towards Harry and Rio as others on here, but Harry isn't getting the job done so it is time for him to move on, and although Rio seems to have contributed lots off the pitch, it is time for him to have to fight for his place in the team.

I'd bet everything I own on our coaching being a shambles. It's why good players play shite for us, there is no plan or philosophy at the club. The whole lot need to go, but I doubt TF will go through with it...

                            As soon as I read

'It wasn't nice to see David Moyes sacked' I knew he was lying. He despised him.
