  • Who remembers when Stewart Houston was booted out..

..and John Hollins came in as caretaker, and the next game we were singing 'we're not Arsenal any more!'.

Currently we've got Spurs obsessed Arry, Glen Hoddle, Sir Les and apparently bloody Sherwood being lined up to take over. I'm looking forward to unshackling ourselves from this unholy alliance and Arry's pernicious reign, and getting a manager in who can sort out this mess and point us back in the right direction. Like Ted says - Gerry Francis and Tony Pulis is a good option. Then we can sing 'we're not Tottenham any more!'

I agree Hubble. There needs to be a change in image at the club.

For me personally, i don't care where they were. Just because managers have QPR links doesn't make them genius's either.
In fact the managers of 2 of our best ever teams were both ex-Chelsea.
I would be quite happy for Harry to continue as long as we press the ball and when we got it attack...more directly

... Because Gerry never managed Spurs, did he ;-)

Ah, if only Rodney hadn't stirred it up and "Super" Ray hadn't had to replace Gerry...

Its the 'amount' of Spurs related players we're connected to that gets on peoples nerves. Its not just 1 or 2....... Redknapp, Tom Carroll, Hoddle, Sir Les (although I think of him as Rangers NOT Spurs) have all been or are here. Then there's constant rumours we're interested in Defoe and Adebayor and of course now Sherwood.... That's 7 Spurs connections!!

I remember that all too well.

I am not so much bothered about the Spurs connection, but I am about the lacklustre performances of the team and in particular players like Ferdinand under performing.

Instead of his presence inspiring the players it seems to be the opposite.

Isla and Vargas are struggling to make an impact, most probably due to the pace of the game here.

Mutch, & Sandro lack fitness it seems and even Fer seems to need more time to get 100% fit.

As for Redknapp, he looks tired & somewhat disinterested.

He should have called it a day after the play off win and gone out on a high.

Hubble when you sang "we're not Arsenal anymore"....you did remember Hollins played for Arsenal right?

Nothing wrong with any players playing for Spurs though, as long as they do a good job for us....Townsend, Jenas...

Another 2 with Townsend and Jenas plus the on going interest in Crouch. That's 13 Spurs connections since HRs been here. Didn't actually realise how many it was until I started listing them.-

                    Redknapp
                    Hoddle
                    Les
                    Carroll
                    Jenas

                    Sandro
                    Caulker
                    Townsend
                    .....Have all been here/still here.

                    Sherwood
                    Defoe
                    Crouch
                    Adebayor
                    .....Linked to coming here

Have I missed any Spurs connections under HR?

Despite the point I was making we could do with his goals!

The point I'm making is not really that they're all directly linked to Spurs, that's just a symbol - emblematic if you like - of a regime that just ain't working, so if we ever get to sing that, or something similar, it will be about the relief of a rebirth under a new regime. What I'm fed up with, and I know many others on here are too, is the negative, inept football, the lack of desire and intensity, the lack of fitness, the ever-expanding back room staff who seem to add nothing positive whatsoever, the never-ending excuses from Harry, and bottom line, the results. It seems to me Harry has enveloped our club and spellbound our owner, and to sing 'we're not Tottenham any more' would be about the breaking of this spell. It doesn't have to be that at all, 'we're not #### any more' would do just as well..

But there are a hell of a lot of Spuds connections, and that somehow seems symptomatic of this whole mess.
