I wonder what kind of reception he will get from QPR fans when he plays against us?

Cannot blame him really for having his head turned by Liverpool but I was surprised to read the other day that he is on only 30k a week which although is a fortune to the rest of us is not that much compared with other Premier players

Shouldn't imagine he'll get any different than the other Liverpool players. Sterling wasn't a first team regular, just a kid showing some promise who most of us had never even heard of before he went.

There was a load of fuss at the time that QPR did not try hard enough to keep him but I think we had no choice because of his age and didnt Liverpool buy his parents a house up there and give them both a job

Just a real shame that QPR did not have a pot to #### in at the time as these days we micght have had a chance of keeping him

Good luck to the lad I reckon

Think i remember Steve Gallen on a podcast saying the club did all they could but seriously got their pants pulled down.

shouldn't really get any reception other than stick, he left had his head turned and obviously thought the grass was greener at Liverpool, never played a senior game for us so dont think we really owe any sort of thanks,

he was on the bench for the league cup game at 15 yo wasn't he? either shows we had noone else or we thought he had talent.
We weren't going anywhere at the time, no direction, board room was a mess, managers were a revolving door. i don't blame him for leaving, he wanted to start his career.

but at the same time why should he get a different reception to others when liverpool come to play. just as much as we understand he left for his career, he needs to know that we will bother him for the sake of our club.

unless he's being subbed off i won't be cheering him.

The bigger clubs poach young players every season. You can't blame the young player for agreeing terms with the bigger club.

Saw him in street the other week..... He's a midget plus his head's massive. Reckon he'd be 5' tall with a normal head but his outsized bonce and ####ty haircut nudges him to about 5'4" - any stat/bio that says he's taller than that is bullshine. Basically, Chief could grind him into the ground by just walking into him; hopefully a full blooded reducer will neutralise him early doors.

I read a while ago Zaha moved to utd on £30k p/w and thought we signed Luke Young on £30k p/w on a 4 yr contract , like you saying about Sterling it does appear strange that compared to wages often banded about that these two for premiership wages at the biggest clubs is relatively reasonable, didn't Rio come to us on 40k p/w and it was deemed as charitable.
It might be that signing on, endorsements and win bonuses rapidly increases the basic pay, I presume no one has ever had a win bonus added as a clause to a QPR players contract.

most fans in the ground probably dont know he was with us as a youngster.

I read last week they had given him a new contract last year to £50k and they now want him to sign a long term deal fat £100k
