Can't argue with his track record mate.

Results win football matches not fancy style football.

No style marks like you get in Ice Skating or Ski Jumping lol.

Very true. Maybe we need a nasty bas#ard in to sort these players out.

For me he is the obvious choice over some of the others mentioned who have never managed in the Prem,or those that ain't all that like Clarke.

I'm not a fan of Pulis because I see him as another one of these Italian style managers who will try to clog things up and sneak just enough points to stay in the division. I'd prefer Hoddle who I think would build a team we'd all enjoy watching. With that said, I think Pulis would probably be effective and might keep us up, although we might all need some artificial stimulants to stay awake during matches.

We cannot afford to get relegated.

              It's that simple.

Forget about poncey football that looks nice but loses games.

Is that mainly down his 'image' in the media?

He's been a manager in the Premier League for 6 seasons and finished midtable every time. Stoke were known for the long ball and long throw in but they also played some good stuff. Palace didn't have a tall team or a long throw in taker and played some good stuff too. I honestly think a lot of negativity toward Tony Pulis is down to people like Arsene Wenger moaning about him and Stoke in the media.

Well Stan, the bean counters would certainly agree with you but I beg to differ. We don't want to get relegated but we CAN afford to. It is continually acting out of desperation because we think we CAN"T afford to get relegated that keeps getting us into trouble. That is EXACTLY why we lost Remy for a song!

Well we went down last time and here we are - the world is still turning.

We should hire the right man for the job now, even if there is a higher risk of going down (of course relegation would by no means be certain no matter what!).

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on this one but I know I'll be in the minority.

You do realise relegation can mean a massive FFP fine?.

I believe relegation will result in a court injunction against any fine and a massive FFP court case which we will win because FFP is blatantly illegal.

It's still a massive risk and the legal fees will be stratospheric whatever the outcome.

Tell that to Man City then.

Think you will find they got fined and a squad reduction.

They chose not to fight because they know darned well that in the long term FFP will work FOR them.

                              We will fight.

As for court fees, could be as high as a couple of million. Small potatoes compared to the potential fine. Also, others could join us which would divvy up the fees and when we win we would very likely be awarded some or all of our court costs anyway. And let's not forget, there is huge risk for the Football League to fight it too - high costs for them as well. Once somebody stands up to this nonsense my guess is that a settlement will be negotiated.
