Doesn't need to be part of a circus act. However, I do think there are other equally well qualified candidates who might chance their arm.

Plus I'd sooner see young Gallen let off the bridle, he's the one coach on the staff with a modern understanding of tactics.
    Maybe Bircham as his assistant?

        Rather Steve Clarke.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

Someone said Gallen and Clarke earlier thought that was our best shout so far.

Yes from me. He achieved with Stoke what we aspire to. I have never heard anyone call a Pulis team gutless or accuse them of not giving a f*ck. He is accused of playing boring football but we have played shite football since Gigi departed. He does not make excuses and does not allow his players to do so either. How many Pulis players have spouted off in the media? He ticks all of the right boxes for me.

              Pulis

The only reason that everyone is mentioning the name of Tony Pulis is simple. Our team lacks fight, determination, energy and enthusiasm. And we all know that Tony will not tolerate such attitude were such credentials are missing. TBH, that is exactly what we needs. We are so lethargic its embarrassing. By the way, Tony Pulis is a descendent of Maltese origin, so I am told! Will make me feel closer if it is the case.

Id take Pulis is all day long hard manager doesn't take any crap from prima donnas and with
Gerry Francis the tactician and ex Rangers would be a really good option with the position
                    we find ourselves in.

They have been there and got the t shirt in maintaining Stokes premiership status and if that
is what the board fans etc want it seems the logical way to go.IMO

He had a 46% win rate with a pretty poor Crystal Palace team. He made them very hard to beat and had 10 clean sheets out of his 26 games.

If the season ran from November until May (the length of the Pulis spell) Palace would have finished 8th place in the league. Not bad for a team that were cast adrift at the bottom of the table.

If Pulis comes in I give him half a season before people are calling for his head because of the dire football, regardless of results.
Never understood the obsession with 'total football'.You really expect the sort of players we have to play like Barcelona?.You rather we try to play fancy football and get relegated or 'direct' football and stay up?.

We are a Championship team and nothing more.I would take Pulis getting us punching above our weight than some helmet who has been watching too much La Liga and getting above his station and trying to show off.

More good points. Listened to the podcast with GF & must admit I was highly impressed with what he said about how they turned Stoke around. Not sure why I don't fancy this fella. Think it's because he's in the same mould as the other clowns we've had last few years. Old skool methods etc. I'm probably wrong.

Guy was a hard man footballer and has taken that attitude into management.

Just what we need to sort out these over paid ######s like Wright-Phillips and the like.
