  • Taarabt vows to give his all

Say what you like about Taarabt, he is always an honest guy and says it how he sees it. How many players would reveal their salary like he did last week?

He has often been called disrespectful of QPR, but I think he is hardly being disrespectful here. He is better than we are, I had hoped we would have a good team that would entice him to play for us, but we don't, we have been sh*t for four seasons now, so if he wants to move on, I can't blame him.

Adel Taarabt says he is committed to QPR - but prays the next two weeks heal an ankle injury he’s had since pre-season.

The midfielder appeared off the bench after 67 minutes with the ankle strapped in the 2-0 defeat to West Ham and is ready to seek specialist help if the problem doesn’t resolve itself during the international break.

But despite the disappointment of a move to AC Milan that never happened, the Morocco international insists he will knuckle down and help Rs off the bottom.

He said: “I have the African Cup in January, so I need to be fit.

“I didn’t have a very good pre-season. I was in the middle of the transfer, but it didn’t happen for ‘x’ reasons, and it was difficult for me. But I’m here and have to work hard and get in the team.

“Don’t forget this club helped me a lot. I’ve been here a long time and it’s close to my heart. I had a taste of something different last year, the Champions League, and that’s why I wanted a move, not because I don’t want to be at QPR.

“I have a good relationship with the fans, and I cannot forget that.”

Taarabt was as disappointed as his boss at the lack lustre performance in the east versus west derby battle, and reckons the squad has yet to become a united force.

He added: “We have the players but we have not gelled together yet, and up front we cannot make the creativity, and maybe it’s easy to blame the manager, but it’s down to the players.”

Taarabt is hoping treatment and maybe a friendly later this week can help the road to recovery, but is ready to seek extra advice if the ankle still hurts in 10 days or so.

“I came back earlier than I should have. Maybe a friendly game will help this week,” he added.

“How can you perform on it with an injury? Every time I press on it it’s a problem, and the way I play I get kicked - even in training. The way I did it, the ball was kicked against my foot and the ankle turned, and this happened because I didn’t have a good pre-season.”

The club insists Taarabt will only leave if any suitor coughs up the near £5million Rangers demand for his release. The player himself is happy with the arrangement - even if it did cost him a move to Serie A.

“It’s fair and normal the club have a fee, but it is a crazy fee,” he added.

I know this won't be popular; but you cannot deny that Adel has a winning mentality that is currently lacking in our squad.

I have to agree with this.

I agree. I think the reason he signed that new contract was because we were signing new players with money to spend and he felt QPR would be going places. Unfortunately, the only place we were going was downhill.

Taarabt vows to give his all

"I had a taste of something different last year, playing in the Champions League at a big club. That is why I wanted to move. Not because I do not want to be at QPR, because it was a big opportunity for me," he told the London Evening Standard.

"I was in the middle of a transfer and it did not happen for whatever reasons. It was difficult for me because I thought I was moving. In the end it did not happen, so I am here now and have to work hard to get back in the team and help QPR win games.

"Do not forget that this club has helped me a lot. I am one of the longest-serving players here now, and I still love the club. It will always be in my heart. I am very concentrated on QPR and giving my best."

Following two loan stints at Loftus Road, Taarabt joined QPR from Tottenham Hotspur in 2010.

Surely that clears up the whole not caring about this club malarkey.

If he is given another opportunity then he will get my backing. Its about time however after the best part of three years that we get a bit of positive news from him about his parent club!!!!!!!!!!!

What is interesting is that many make out the reason he is not playing is because Harry don't like him and they don't get on but the closer you look at the two of them they do appear to get on as well as any other player at the club. Harry more often then not praises Adel, Adel has in his most recent interview backed the manager when you watch the last tunnel cam Harry is at the dressing room door and Adel walks in after the game and Harry gives him a friendly tap on the back. I don't think things are half as strained as some make out I think its simply used as an excuse because some think he should be playing and have to have an excuse when he is not

And a bit of praise from myself for Adel when he came on yesterday he certainly looked to me like she had shed loads of wait compared to what I witnessed at Burton where he was clearly overweight so fairs fair he must have been doing his bit on the fitness front to shed the pounds so hopefully his mind is on the game and this ankle issue clears up and he starts contributing

He has said some silly things recently but deep down reckon he does love the club and wants to better himself

One of the most creative players we got but Harry seems to be dismissing him because of his personality and not what he can do on the pitch

Another reason why Harry should go as fed up now of the right sort getting picked over players with ability

Well its about time now that he 'appears' to be showing the correct attitude, being synical though he probably realises that in order to get a move away from the club that he will need to knuckle down and put in some decent performances to get the move he wants in January.

Odd how the 2 players to vow their confidence in the team are the 2 players who most of us questioned in regards to attitude.

                            Traore and Adel.
