Any room here for an old Manxman, who about 45yrs ago had the mis-fortune to watch a team in a great strip win a cup.

And then spent the next 45yrs being disappointed by them, punctuated only briefly by joy, then more gut wrenching disappointment at the final hurdle.

Ah well in for a penny, in or pound, but on a positive note, maybe i will die soon, and not have to 'suffer' another decade of it.

Venables was the best period, and the plastic pitch, that was a good era to, i know it overlaps, or atleast i think it did.

I am still very happy with the job that Harry has done. He got the job 16 games into the last prem season and th squad he inherited had a bunch of over paid players with no ambition to achieve anything. YES . We failed to stay up. But in that summer we were relegated he managed to shift a lot of that poison out the club while still managing to bring in a whole new squad, he knitted those players together and achieved promotion back at the first time of asking! My opinion tho is that the squad he put together to get us out of the championship would of got murdered here in the prem! This summer I'm really happy with the transfer business. Ok Rio is looking a little shaky here and there but I also see a lot of things Rio does well... Caulker looks great. Fer looks very promising..

However I do think that unfortunately these players need time to gel. Today when we scored our goal the whole team run to the corner to celebrate and they generally looked so happy and united.....

The worst thing we could do now is sack Harry and try go again.. Pulis is a great man manager but that's about it. I don't want us playing like Stoke! Harry has got his squad.. Now let him have the season to work with this bunch.

We can't hope for a better manager than redknapp. We can't keep sacking managers because they aren't winning us the prem. 17th is our aim and we will give it a bloody good go at.

Anyone else got any positives.. There is enough other negative threads for people to post on so keep that off here.
What's your name Walter Mitty dream on if you think it's going to get better under Redknapp.

I honestly do. Think that once the squad beds in and we get Mutch barton and sandro back that we will compete. I'm not saying we will finish top half. I just think we have a team that will compete in staying up.

Makes me laugh how many other moaner threads there are and they still have to come in here and have a barney.... Go start a row with the missus if you want one....

Some people's expectations are way too high! We have a target of staying in the premiership, not winning it.
A lot of people on here predicted a thrashing but that didn't happen, we were unlucky yesterday to not come home with a point from a very good side.
Southampton are flying at the moment and we almost had a draw on their turf. Not that bad in my mind. Some areas of our game are a bit messy but overall I think we can achieve what we're aiming for.

The underside of the crossbar prevented another excellent two goal comeback. The fight is there, the team are playing for each other and it will get better for certain. Near on everyone went four nil and higher in the prediction thread.

I did post on those wins with a positive view, I'm just telling it as I see it, unless something changes soon I can't see it getting any better under Redknapp, too many people are wearing rose tinted glasses on this forum, just don't want to see the truth.
