  • This is the kind of attitude we need from Rangers..

    ...unfortunately, it's from Southampton..

"Saints manager Ronald Koeman revealed his players asked to give up their day off this week – so that they could undergo extra training ahead of Saturday’s game against QPR.

The squad were due to have a free day on Wednesday, but team captain Jose Fonte approached Koeman after Tuesday’s 2-1 win at Arsenal in the Capital One Cup and said they would like to come in the next morning to improve their chances of earning another victory this weekend.

Koeman said: “The players showed a great ambition because we planned last Wednesday as a day off after the Tuesday and Jose Fonte said to me ‘Boss, we would like to come to train tomorrow.’ “I said ‘But you have a day off – I’ve planned a lot of things with my wife!

“But we changed it and we had a recovering session.

“I never had that – a team, a squad say ‘No day off’ and that means a lot for me, that means a lot about the ambition of the players.

“We spoke to each other and said ‘Ok, if you win against Queens Park then you get that day off for next week, and we hope to win on Saturday.”

Nerds, remember playing a team in Richmond years ago, they had badged tracksuits on as we turned up half cut from the night before. got out the changing rooms late and the Richmond mob are doing star jumps on the pitch, done em 0-3 and they laid on pimms in a very nice public house after saying how on earth did we lose to a pub side.hope one of the saints players picked up a knock in that session
    Ooh northern lads love gravy

Yeah, fair play - send our lot down the boozer tomorrow, probably stand a better chance half cut anyway.

Yes mate, I do reckon they're doable - as I said in another thread, I fancy us to nick it. Be bloody funny if we did, cos I reckon the Saints are feeling full of themselves right now.

              The problem is

the problem is that harry will tell the qpr team not to attack untill the second half and by then we will be three nil down
if harry had another plan then of course it would differant wwe may nick a win but unfortunately hes all about sitting in his own half for the first 45 mins and conceading 2 or3 goals

Old saying, but true; If you don't have a day off, you'll have an off day. I believe theirs is happening tomorrow.

2-1 Southampton I believe, one of our only back to back wins since the Taarabt promotion

Yes, we only won four games and two of them were on the spin.
If my memory serves me right we should have then won at Villa after pummelling them for forty minutes but ended up losing.

Yes, and with it our chance of avoiding the drop. Still haven't gotten over that...
