You're right it's still a point and not bad, however we need to pick up another win very soon or we'll be needing 2 or 3 just to get back out of the bottom 3, we're only 5 games in.
The other point is I don't see another club other than Newcastle who look as bad as well do, all the other teams I've seen look like they'll pick up points.
It's strange how this season it seems everyone has raised their game, but we've looked a mess in most of them, defence really.
I thought we had more of a chance to pick points up at Man Utd than Southampton, so if we win I will not complain as I was expecting to win and lose one of those.
My son kept asking me through the game "would you take a point?" NO was my answer every time.
Even with 5 mins to go I felt something was on the cards and we could turn it around.
Just before Nico got chopped down he asked if I`d take a point again, I said YES.
What I`m saying is a point against an average Stoke side is kind of neither here nor there, only time will tell if it`s a good point.
I just thought that should have been one game that the players didn`t/shouldn`t need motivating for, so felt we should have got at them and gone for the win. Nico was the only player who genuinely looked up for it and tried to grab the game by the nuts.
.........who thought a point against stoke on saturday wasnt to bad! i mean we could have lost!
Point gained for me as we didn't play that well but what's worrying is after looking at all the other teams we're clearly the worst team in the division at the moment
Stoke have 1 defeat now in 8 away games and of course had that win at Man City recently. They are a counter-attacking team more suited to picking up results on the road than at home right now. Add to that, we didn't play particularly well and were hampered by the loss of our two hardest working midfielders either side of half time. If you can't win a game, the next best thing is to not lose it.
So, no you are not the only one
If we lose the next 2 away games badly should we still judge after 10 games?!!!
Were 5 games away from 10 games and our next 5 games are... west ham away, Southampton away, Liverpool at home, Villa at home, and Chelsea away..
Am I the only person that cannot see us getting anything in those 5 games apart from Villa.. and even they have had a great start!
Just out of interest who was bottom of the prem at this time last season and what positions where the regelated teams?
After 5 games, Palace were bottom ( they only won one game in ten starts?).
Cardiff were 16th, Norwich 17th and the fools were 18th.
Edit; Must have been sleeping when I posted that; Sunderland were actually bottom and Palace were 19th after 5 games, and both had miraculous escapes, nothing to do with bringing in dynamic managers though, no sirree.
