    No worries regarding the advice.
We can't and shouldn't go into games with this reverence you seem to be giving to the "big boys". We can and have beaten these sides. We should never be beaten before we've kicked a ball

I am sure we don't go into it against the big boys thinking we are beaten but there does have to be a certain amount of reality.
As managers have said including HR, you cant go gun hoe at these talented teams in this day and age with the pace in the game. They can pick you off.

We went into yesterday trying to keep them out for as long as possible, whilst it has worked for us in the past, it didn't work for us on this occasion and we didn't have a plan B.
We had a few chances which we could of taken but didn't. When you play this tactic, it goes either way, on this occasion it didn't go the right way for us

The midfield sat back on the defence, and so man utd only needed one pass into feet, and they were on the 18 yrd box.
Fer was awful, i expect better and to get it every week. Mind you most of em were.
I saw a post in the matchday thread that someone posted stating they would've been tempted to play Karl Henry yesterday, i think we should've now.
Spot on. it was embarassing to watch, imo.

The tactics of sitting back can work but you have to retain a threat or you just end up defending for 90 minutes. If you threaten them every now and again they start to sit a little deeper so the pressure lessons, actually nick a goal and they begin to doubt themselves.

The problem was the team selection or the constant changing of formations and personnel. Isla was brought to play as a wing back not in a flat back four, to compound that we sold our only other RB who was better in a flat back four. We don't have a decent left back, both Traore and Yun are better as wing backs and Hill, whilst a legend is not and never has been a decent left back. Going forward Holliett was woeful yesterday, Austin can't play on his own up front in the Prem and well Phillips is just woeful full stop.

Need to choose a system and stick to it, to be honest with the players we have it needs to be 3-5-2 and give it a chance, other than the result looked ok against Hull.
