  • Leiweke not happy with Defoe

Despite scoring 11 goals in his time in the MLS - an impressive goals-per-game ratio - Defoe is said to be looking for a premature end to his spell at Toronto, in favour of a move back to the Premier League.

He should have sold him to us, his price will probably drop in Jan as everyone now knows all parties want out.

If these reports are accurate, I think it's daft that they pulled the plug last minute. What was the point?

You are probably right, pride before a fall comes to mind.

You going on what happened in the last transfer window (him seeming quite keen to come here) or do you know any inside info?

Hope your right mate, would love to have Defoe here.... for the right price of course!

Defoe CHOSE to move abroad for big money. He CHOSE to end his prem league career and ply his trade elsewhere. Isn't that how people define a mercenary in football these days? If so, doesn't that tell you something about the man?

                          Just wondering....
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

At least he's a mercenary that delivers

It's quite possible that he chose to go out there because he thought it was the right time and that he would enjoy it. It's also quite possible that it is not all that he thought, and wants to come back. It's quite an upheaval to go to another country and culture and you never really know how much you will miss home until you have made the move.

Of course, it's much easier to pigeon-hole him as a mercenary.
