I see the fine has gone up another £10mil over night on the radio you cannot make it up

Suppose the club could take bull by the horns if they are concerend and offer the FL a deal now ie heres £10mil now I reckon they would accept that as they will look to other teams that they have upheld the rule without having the hassle of court cases etc with us

Out of interest were getting the flack but there are 5 other clubs who have over spent who are they????

Yeah this is the real issue. Of course, if things with the stadium etc keep on track TF and the board will just stump up the fine, however ridiculous, and throw more money at players to get us straight back up again. We've been there before.

The problem comes if we go down, planning permission for Old Oak flops for some reason (gazumped by a Saudi zillionaire, priceless Iron Age fort discovered on the stadium site, TF has a heart attack, Air Asia suddenly goes bust, whatever) and then suddenly forking out an extra £40m or whatever it would be on top of our regular losses suddenly doesn't look like such a great investment.

If you no longer particularly want or need a Premier League club to fulfil a different business plan (own and operate west London's o2 arena equivalent) then a bankrupt club in the Conference could be a better option than burning more money on fines.

it is only possible if they had a very strict pay structure like some clubs do, including the likes of Burnley and Reading last season.

Unfortunately QPR paid stupid wages that could not be afforded, and cancelling and paying off contracts was not really possible for all of the Premiership squad and in any case would still have recorded huge losses.

It's no wonder QPR will challenge these rules.
If a club wants to stay in the Premiership it needs to pay competitive wages to have a decent chance of doing so, which is one of the reasons why Reading went straight down.

I think you'll find 19 out of the 20 clubs in the prem right now would lose over £8mill if suddenly stuck in the championship, and therein lies the problem.
The fl interpretation of this isn't protecting anyone, it's just waiting to "ambush" teams that are relegated. What do they think will happen then?....Teams will spend
even more to try and stay up, and so ffp will actually fuel the opposite of what it was introduced for...

Anyone else hear Mark Pallios on ts this morning?
I expected the usual "QPR have broken the rules therefore must face the consequences" stuff from him. But actually he spoke very well and measured.

The FL have defo opened Pandoras Box on this one.

I've been told that many teams are looking at an alternative structure under the PL rather than the FL.

I'd like to see the prem lge come out in support of us and other pl teams facing these draconian measures. Bottom line .....stop promotion and relegation between the
prem and fl this season.....that'd put league clubs up in arms at their own organisation and hopefully bring common sense to the table.
Just as a point of order ...where does this harvey bloke get off spouting about our finances when he has no idea what our figures will be, and he also has no planned
                            punishment for these offences.
When this was introduced there should've been a list of punishments, not some nobody northern monkey "theoretically" telling the world what he and his circus are going to do to
                            EVIL QPR

Well. For a start that's prejudice from old Harvy boll0cks..... and that defo won't have been missed. And if our books are clean, or showing proactive improvement - it's defamation. In fact, it's technically defamation anyways. The FL will get tonked in the courts if they keep this up......

Can't find anywhere in the press where TF has refuted claims or suggested the story is nonsense.
If not, why not? He usually does. I'm a tad concerned.......
