I bet SWP will still be useless in conference.

Absolutely ridiculous. Who is to say we won't be in profit for the accounts after the ones submitted on 1st Dec? That £70m TV money must be going someway to reduce any loss the cub is run at !!?

i thought it was if we were relegated?

I'm fairly happy to predict we won't be in profit.

We knew this was likely surely. We were clearly in breach of the rules, it was just a case of how much we would have to pay/how extensive a transfer ban we'd get.

We can pretend it isn't going to happen, and that it's all made up by the media, but I'm concerned about it.

Probably not in profit but it is possible we will be a lot closer to the max loss allowed.

What a complete load a s**t.Basically the little man Shaun Harvey....a f**king nobody who has been given a position of power, thinks he'll make a name for himself. Just his way of threatening us if we dare fight it.
Right FFP....How can an organisation ie, the football league say ffp is there to protect clubs and then dish out fines that will send most clubs into liquidation, administration at least.
It doesn't make any sense. The nobody was on ssn saying we don't want another Portsmouth.
Seems to me that the football league are confident we have the money to pay £40mill fine so surely our owners should be trusted to invest money in the club.
We haven't any sizeable debt out side of the owners.
How can it be right that we are being fined for one year in the championship? We aren't allowed to just cancel player contracts and not pay them up, so what were we supposed to do?
Absolute joke of a ruling, and i hope we fight it all the way....this if it's allowed to be used is the final nail in the coffin of any chance of a level playing field for teams to try to make something of
themselves.........The end of competition, which is almost there already

SWP. Case-in-point right there in terms of an investment going wrong..... and being stuck with the financial losses.

Yes there will be a bit of posturing........ But any lawyer worth his salt will take the FL to the cleaners..... Beacuse what the FL are doing is actually illegal in both the UK and the EU.

The one thing for certain is that most clubs [in the Premier League] will become a Football League club again,” said Harvey, speaking at the Soccerex conference in Manchester.

“Now QPR will of course be hoping it does not happen for some considerable number of seasons. But the chances they will need to return to the Football League fold at some point in the future. Certainly, three of the current 20 clubs that are in the Premier League will be in the Football League next season.”

“Unless the 24 clubs vote to change the rules, the rules as they are now will stay in place. I don’t suspect there is any form of rule change that would be considered or brought forward that would see the current circumstances we potentially face changing,” said Harvey.

“There’s a long-standing discussion that’s taken place between the Football League and the Premier League as to how to try to ensure that we have regulations that actually work for clubs regardless of which division they’re in,” he said.

How the hell did they get that headline from those quotes? The Guardian is fast losing its journalistic credibility, they seem to favour attention grabbing headlines over substance these days.
i think the headline can be derived from the quote as follows:

if there is a ffp fine made against us (which depends on our as-yet-unpublished financial results) and if qpr refuse to pay it and if we are subsequently relegated from the premier league, then we could be refused entry to the english football league and therefore only have the option of playing in the conference (presumably with no promotion rights.

what's of concern here is that the chief executive of the league is choosing to issue what seem like threats to one specific team before before they've even calculated whether we (or any other team) needs to pay a fine - seems totally unprofessional in my book.

curious to see what line they take with leicester, who will also probably incur a hefty ffp fine if their books for last season look anything like i think they will. leicester are alleged to be one of the clubs who will challenge any fine the same way we will.

                        http://www.itv.com/news/2014-09-09/qpr-threatened-with-relegation-to-conference/ I can't see it happening but it's worth a thread.

The thing with FFP is it isn't really helping the smaller clubs compete anyway, the top 4 have a massive turnover compared to the bottom half of each top league in Europe so surely it just means the gap between those at the top and those nearer the bottom gets bigger each season? Or am I missing...

I don't think it will happen if we go to court or a compromise will be met were clubs have X amount of years to adhere to the rules before a fine applies As many have said until the Government and PFA change employment law which means you can tear up contracts if your relegated and start paying someone who was on 50k a week 10k a week instead overnight any side that comes down has no chance of complying

Every side in the prem outside the top 6 should be pushing us to take this to court as this could easily apply to anyone one of the other 14 teams so the sooner its tested in court sooner everyone knows how they can continue

TS had the lawyer for Bosman on the other day (when Keys was slating us again) and he is challenging FFP and he is confident that FFP will be torn up in court or totally revamped from its current form as its a restriction of trade

The pfa need to back the clubs on this imo. They are the ones that have secured water tight contracts for players and these must be paid first before any other debt if a club
goes into admin or liquidation, so imo they should help fight these ridiculous rules.
Plus it's player wages that have pushed clubs to the brink.
