  • TF gets help from unexpected quarter as he plots long-term QPR future

    Fernandes said:

"Rio Ferdinand has been fantastic since he came here. Obviously we brought him in for his quality and experience - but he has been more than that.

His influence around the place is tremendous. He sends me texts messages nearly every day. He loves it.

He wants to mentor young players at the club. He is always telling me about the good youngsters we have he has spotted. He will send me a message saying: 'We can make this boy a £10m player!'.

There is a wonderful camaraderie in the dressing room and a lot of that is down to Rio."

TONY FERNANDES is getting a little bit of help from an unexpected quarter as he plots the long term future for his beloved Queens Park Rangers.

Voted for him as my favourite signing. Blokes a true football legend and has won everything and loves the game. Hope he stays on for ages and ages.

And this is exactly why I changed my mind for him signing for us, thinking he was just another ageing player looking for a final pay off who will offer us nothing in return..... but how wrong was I!!!

Not only did he turn down other clubs who are bigger than us and no doubt would pay bigger bucks but his experience and influence to the other players are something that only a hand full of player's could offer. If he stays around, which I think he will he could play a huge part in qpr football club on and off the pitch and be vital for the future of the club.
        SIR LESLIE FERDINAND!!

If he does the business I will hold my hands up and say I was wrong. Let's see how he does over the season.
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

If he can find a £10m player in our youth team he'll make a great agent.

It'll be like running into an ex...... you want to show her you're doing well, you've moved on and you're now seeing someone better.

But will the ex be bitter and twisted?
