    i do accept that

i do accept that it is vital to get a nil nil by half time, and i think we will be able to achieve that then take the game 1-0
scorer will be hoilett who comes on as a sub

football tactics is mostly an overrated load of hokum
most of the time the team with the expensive players wins and the lesser team loses
that is just life unfortunately - you can tweak stuff around he edges now and then but mostly rochdale and real madrid are where there finances say they shoiuld be

the actual trick for a manager is not tactics - it is keeping players happy, hard working, and playing as a team - which mainly comes from having good recruitment

if you do that and you got a chance whatever the tactics

Stick with 4-4-2 with Hoilett behind Austin. The midfield is: Fer, Barton, Philips and Taarabt (if fit and has his mind on the game). Taarabt's skills may help in getting fouls although I do not rate him but I think he would specifically be motivated to play against big clubs.

          er zeberdee

er zeberdee this site is all about opinion and as such you are well capable of forming your own opiion
but to me its all about tactics
venables was the greatest tactical; genius that we have ever had,but gerry francis proved that he knew his stuff
redknapp may not be a tactical genius thats why he employed steve maclaren and now employs glen hoddle
this seson i expect qpr to finish tweelve or thirteenth but it will be all about tactics

maybe rochdale cant beat real madrid but qpr defeinately could with a team fullof internationals on there day qpr could beat anybody but they wont win the prem this season because of lack of consistancy, but in five seasons time qpr may well win the prem

We need a pacey back 4, men or steel in the middle and some pace going forward to relieve the defence. My team would be:

                  Green
                  Isla Caulker Ferdinand Onouha
                  Phillips Sandro Barton Hoilett
                  Fer
                  Austin

A point would be a great result but I just hope United don't finally click because they do have plenty of goals in their team!
They have looked so bad and didn't show signs of getting better, all we need to do is attack and hopefully score more than they do.

If we're going to sit back, it's game over.

Phillips and Hoillet have also shown of late that they work hard protecting the full backs which will also be important.

Not wrong there, every player needs to work to win the ball back. All the top teams do it.

Maybe in the 1970s or League 1, but in the big matches it is all tactics. See Dortmund, Bayern, Real, Atletico, Chelsea etc.

But I agree we need Sandro & Fer to dominate the midfield with some pace on the flanks to give their defence a few things to think about. Reckon Taarabt as the wildcard could have a big impact too.

EVERY game has the potential of grabbing at least one point. We've already seen Man City come unstuck at home and other top sides struggle. No disrespect, but that kind of thinking is catastrophic if you're coach, player, manager or supporter.
It done Wigan well for a couple of seasons. Martinez was always saying that these games are just bonus games. Martinez at Wigan always done well beating teams around them where we always had a problem with that.

No I agree with the general thought Ted, I think there's points up for grabs here & I hope we don't sit back allowing them/new players to grow into the game.

Be great for team moral etc if we come back from OT with a point(s).
