What name would you like for the the road our new stadium will be on?
I'm not going to enter what, to me at least, is another pointless argument, but I'm not sure I appreciate being pigeon-holed as a brain washed blind follower.
I am far from brainwashed but am happy to go along with what the board plans. Not because I don't think it will destroy or lessen our club, because it might. But by the same token it might, just might, make the club better and ensure financial and other stability for many years to come. Add to that the fact that the board know more than I do about these things, and that there is very little, if anything, that I can realistically do about it anyway. Therefore, I am going to continue to support my team, buckle up and happily go along for the ride.
So you admit you think the current board are gambling with the clubs future but because you cannot do anything about it just gonna go along for the ride?....think thats fairplay if you are ok with it. Personally i resent the fact the board are gambling to gain the extra millions for their pockets. As trustee's of the club i think the club should come 100% first and they shouldnt be looking to make millions for themselves by making a move that has more than a slight chance of being detrimental to the clubs survivability in the future.

As I said, there is very little I can do about it so I'm not going to turn all bitter about it. Besides, I think I am OK with it actually. Since the success of their venture is somewhat dependent on the success of the club, at least in the medium term, it could well be one of the best things to happen to the club. It may not be, but it might. I'd rather somebody try to make a success of the club than just run it into obscurity.
Should call the ground The O3 cos that's what they have been aiming for. Thats why they got Beardy in. Biggest and best entertainment complex in London with better transport links than the O2 ..serious money to made and i mean millions. Our attendance not going to mean a thing as they will make all their money from the entertainment and the hotel etc etc..we could have 7k in a 40k capacity and be playing in League One and it wont matter to them. Making their money from the new top spec number one entertainment venue in London...what it has been all about since day one but carry on kidding yourself. Might get cheap ticket prices out of it so not all bad i spose.
thats total crap . If they were only interested in a regeneration project they could have done that without a football club involvement. In fact it would be easier.

So Phil Beard wasnt brought into the football club because of his involvement in the O2 and his input in the new entertainment complex/stadium? He was brought in because of his skills as CEO of a football club? These businessmen are commited to this regeneration project, 24k houses, entertainment complex to surpass the O2 solely in the best intentions of QPR? Its not the hundreds of millions they will make from it that spurs them on its the survival and safety of QPR that they as caretakers of the club have in mind? Cmon mate....
I couldnt give a toss how much money they make but the fact is we are just a small part of their project when we should be all that is important to them. They shove a PR friendly figurehead out front to keep the fans happy while they increase London profile and secure land and planning. Just hope that by the time they get all that they want and put everything in place we as fans will have a football club that is recognizable to the one they took charge of. Actually i take that back what i really hope is it all falls through and we dont become part of their regeneration project. They can stuff it up their 'arris

What planet have you just landed from ?
How easy do you think planning permission would be to get without a football club attached ?
It gives it community status which ticks loads of boxes in the planning process.
"Steve, do you think 25k is a good option when there are indications that within four years, new stadiums on average have increased attendances of 60%? For us that would mean around 29k."
No Richard its you that has missed the point ,if the majority want a 35000 stadium ,presumably because they know that that is more then enough and we will never fill a 40,000 , and the club has ignored their wishes and ploughed on with the 40,000 capacity ,then the majority didnt get their wish did they ?
The majority dont want to be rattling around in a 40,000 stadium ,that is why they chose 35,000 not 40. Come on its really not that hard to understand is it ?

Those that wanted a 30-40k capacity got their wish. Those that wanted a stadium that can hold 35k got their wish. It's only those that wanted a smaller stadium, the minority, that didn't.
Wembley stadium was rebuilt as a multi-purpose stadium with a 90k capacity, yet it wasn't full for the England game the other night. It wasn't full for the last community shield game. It wasn't full for the league one and two play-off finals. I've seen two FA trophy finals there and the ground wasn't full on either occasion. I've seen every NFL game there and it's been pretty much full. I've seen U2 there, the same thing. Has the FA made a huge mistake building a 90k stadium when it doesn't sell out every football match? Football matches aren't the only revenue stream for the FA, and neither will it be for us.
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

Actually, Kron is right. They didn't need the new stadium to get planning permission. Planning regulations were changed when John Prescott was Deputy PM which allowed easier housing developments planning in England. There's a massive housing shortage in London. Are you trying to tell us that the redevelopment of a brown field site in London wouldn't happen without a new stadium being built? I'd have thought it would be more difficult what with transport issues and thousands of people congregating in one small area for various events. Surely a new stadium is more of a hindrance then a help?

So you are now saying Uncle T the international business man who owns an airline & hotels brought QPR so he could build a housing estate in London ?
That is your best post ever on the subject.
I would think the offer to build the houses is a 'sweetener' to help the project through.
A bit like when any housing project has to include affordable housing.
Any profit on housing is a one off hit, whereas the continual income from the hotels & multi purpose arena lasts as long as they own the project.
In reply to your last post about how many times you've watched other events @ Wembley only, that only plays right into the gang of fours hands I'm afraid. As we really don't give a flying fleck whether they can sell 5 or 10k more tickets for a U2 concert .
We are QPR 'FOOTBALL' CLUB fans and we are only interested in our matchday experience.

can i ask the gang of four one serious question and please get a serious answer.
What is the massive problem with being in a stadium that isnt full to the rafters and every single seat full?
I hate anything packed out, trains, cinema etc, so why is football better rammed and squeezed next to people and queing for the pissers and beer?etc
