Yeah, sorry Rangers, I read Norths e and took it as correct as it seemed he had preempted any problem. So, it seems he is now of an age where he has to take a place in the squad and has done so.

I can see an FA points deduction being thrown at us because our fans don't understand the squad rules fully..... The FA don't need much to stitch us up do they!

Where would this leave us if we bagged Jonas as a free? Can frees just be added? How does this work? Cheers.....

Forget it - 25 man squad named and submitted as required. No more can be added over and above 25, other than the kids of course who don't need to be named

So let me get this right. We could bring in a free agent but not play him because we've named a full 25?

If we'd named 23, could we have brought in two frees? I just want to know we didn't name SWP and thereby rule out bringing in a decent free agent.

No players can go out on loan from the 25 man squad , ie. Henry , SWP could both end up on loan in the championship, Lassana Diarra could have his contract terminated become a free agent and sign for qpr and take a loaned out players spot

If Diarra or, better still, a decent striker, becomes available someone at the club should shoot SWP to create the place. There's no way he's going out on loan or that any club would want him to have him on loan.

I'm not sure about that - I think once they've been named they cannot be replaced even if they get injured or go on loan. The only exception I believe is the emergency loan rule for goalkeepers, but that is still hard to get past the red tape. By the same token, if you have contracted players you can't simply omit them from the squad, unless they are going out on loan - i.e. don't name them in the squad and they get loaned is fine and as long as you have less than 25 contacted players left, you can leave space for players signed as free agents whereas loan out a player that has been named in your squad and you cannot then replace him in the same way. If I recall we had this situation when previously in the PL when Client Hill got loaned out to Forest?

Think Bluehoop is right. Let's hope our one and only RB, Isla, stays healthy. Even though he's actually a RWB.....

Yeah, selling Simpson was an odd one. I guess Chief could be the second string RB though?

He can do a job there, but not IMHO, a good one. Think Harry et al thought Diarra was a done deal and that he could be RB back up. But that doesn't explain not having Harriman in the squad. Especially in preference to SWP who won't be used. Here's hoping...

Couldn't agree more. Absolutely shocking decision, especially seeing as he has actually played in the PL (Liverpool away) and was solid.

For us that would mean around 29k."
